Dodgers have done the same. They dont like to overuse any specific pitcher. DOdgers went through what, Wolf, Weaver, Bellasario, Sherril and Broxton so far.

Why do the Cardinals feel it's needed to use 20 pitchers every game?Tony Larussa. He has been doing it for years. Since this is our 7th trip to the playoffs in 10 years and he's 20-5 in the DLCS he gets to make the decisions.

Ya, they slumped it a bit towards the end, but they were also playing alot of the call ups, but we will see. Both teams should have scored alot more. Our starting pitching isnt the best, but even so, we still had the best ERA in the Majors this year. WE have one hell of a bullpen, probably the best in the game right now. So many good arms. Troncoso, Bellasario, Kuo, Sherril, and Broxton

There's no doubt about the Dodgers' depth of pitching. I fear that they peaked too quickly in the season. Either way, a nice win tonight. We have an opportunity to put it away by beating Wainwright tomorrow but I think it's going to be an uphill battle.

Dodgers LOB 16 and the Cardinals 14. Set a NLDS record of 30 combined. No wonder that game took so damn long.

As a Dodger fan I am obviously pretty happy. Winning the first one at home is always a key...especially when you are going against Carpenter followed by Wainright. I have tickets for the league championship and World Series if the Dodgers can pull it out. Damn, I hope...

The game last night wasn't a sell out?

Tried to find an article about it but was unable to. I know it was not sold out Tuesday but not sure if they eventually sold out. The only tickets left, however, were the really expensive ones right on the field with their own bar etc. that were put in a few years back. The rest of the stadium was sold out. They have over priced those new seats. They thought the fans would jump all over them but it did not happen. No idea how expensive they are for the playoffs.

Well,

Our possible closer of the future, a guy who could have been a #3-#4 starter (or a closer)--For DeRosa

Our best hitting prospect by far (Wallace), a future #4-#5 (Mortenson) for Holliday.

It's a fucking apocalypse. I was vehemently against the Holliday trade at the time, but I thought maybe the team's improved play and the support of the St.L crowd might entice him to stay.

But fuck him.

Just offer the worthless cocksucking paycheck cunt arb and take the draft picks.

Short series's anything can happen. Our minor league system is still got some good players. Freese looks like a real RBI machine for us next year. "A Rod comes through again".

The Times did a story on him yesterday -- crazy

No one in the production truck could rescue him from his 10th-inning classic faux pas during the Twins-Tigers tie breaker Tuesday night. Caray called the Twins’ Nick Punto’s sharply hit liner to left field this way: “Line drive. Base hit. Caught out there. The runner tags. Throw to the plate. On target. And in time! A double play.

My ears quivered in amazement at hearing a very obvious lineout called a single as smoothly as Caray did.”

that would be a negative ... :D

Caray’s lack of knowledge of the Yankees — he calls Braves games and TBS’s Sunday afternoon games — is glaring on a national stage and creates a talent mismatch with his partner, Ron Darling, who is trying hard to maintain the high level of commentary he offers on Mets games on SNY.

He gave Alex Rodriguez’s career statistics but left out 2009; he also erroneously said that after Rodriguez hit a home run in his first at-bat in May upon returning from hip surgery rehabilitation, “he hasn’t stopped hitting since.”

Caray called a passed ball by Jorge Posada his eighth of the year but it was his ninth.

In praising Tigers catcher Gerald Laird on Tuesday, he said that his nearly 42 percent success rate in throwing out runners trying to steal was the best in the American League. But it wasn’t.

In the Twins-Yankees game, the crew missed a moment to help Caray. In the sixth inning, Michael Cuddyer lined a C. C. Sabathia pitch to Derek Jeter. “Smoked,” Caray declared, exaggerating the impact with one of his favorite and most overused verbs.

Shitty call or not if you have the bases loaded with nobody and don't score, you deserve to lose.

That's a ridiculous take.

If the ball landed in fair territory and they had an umpire whose ONLY damned job is to call fair/foul, that's a ground rule double. The single moves him to third and then home.

It's hard enough to beat the Yankees until you add an umpire helping them out.

The single was hit by the same guy! Then he moved up to second on a hit. It didn't cost them a thing.

We got a break with that foul call. But man, this team is tough as nails mentally.

At the least HR was an easy call for Cuzzie. I thought maybe he'd give the foul signal there.

If the single was hit by the same guy and he moves up to second how did the call hurt the Twins?

It's obviously a bad call but it's really hard to say they didn't fuck themselves when you get no runs out of bases loaded nobody out.

The Yankees had a guy at third with 1 out...same could be said for them. And unlike the Twins, they literally ran themselves out of that rally. Young hit a laser right at Teixiera. The only moron was Gomez. OH yeah, and the LF umpire.

My point is this (not being a fan of either the Twins or Yankees).

Poor umpiring continues to make a huge difference in critical situations. The Yankees might very well be playing Detroit right now if the home plate umpire correctly rules that Inge was hit by the pitch.

And now an obvious call missed by an ump whose only job is to get THAT CALL right.
