You fans with rooting interest in the Cards can certainly start game threads to avoid the usual suspects that tend to be trolls.

The Tigers and Twins are on TBS. Tigers up 3-2 with 2 out in the top of 7th.

Wednesday's schedule is a very nice triple header:

Game 1 of the Rockies-Phillies series Wednesday at 2:37 p.m. est

Game 1 Yankees -Minn/Det at 6:00 est

Game 1 Cards - Dodgers at LA 9:37 est

All on TBS.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:21 PM
Twins get out w/o damage and head to the bottom of the 7th.

3-2 Tigers.

I'm pissed. I didn't know it was on TV until my wife complained that she couldn't watch "Friends" because "some baseball game is on".

Detroit doesn't deserve to win considering their collapse ending the season. But I hate the Twins. I suppose I could root for the Twins so they'll get ass-raped by the Yankees, but I hate the Yankees too.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:24 PM
Oh and tell Skip that they are showing this in Tulsa, unlike the Chiefs. LMAO

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:26 PM
Zach Miner in for the 7th vs Punto, Span and Cabrera

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:27 PM
Nice AB by Punto. Real hard nosed. Fouled off 6 and then lines it through the hole between 3b and SS.

Basileus777
10-06-2009, 05:27 PM
I'm hoping the Twins pull through, I'd rather not face Detroit's pitching in a short series.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:29 PM
Porcello was stellar for 5.2 innings. Struck out 8 BB 2.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:30 PM
BIG K by Miner there. Span windmilled through that.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:30 PM
God damn! What a shot!

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:31 PM
Cabrera hammered that. 4-3 Twins.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:35 PM
Cabrera recovered well from that BAC of .26

* Miguel Cabrera

Gonna be a short series for whichever team is playing the Yankees.

Edit: I would be surprised to see the series go more than four.

Gonna be a short series for whichever team is playing the Yankees.

The twins have won 30 of their last 44 games... being that hot could be enough. I would like their chances better than Detroit's, if only for that reason.

They have been hot. I agree I like their chances more than the Tigers against NY. It is gonna be tough for either team to win a series against the Yanks after fighting tooth and nail just to get in the post season.

It's hard to predict those kind of things though. We've seen lots of teams back into the playoffs and then catch fire, and hot teams turn cold in October.

DrRyan
10-06-2009, 05:57 PM
2 on with only one out. A big spot right here for Inge to come through or the Twinkies to get back in the dugout with a ground ball DP.

wild1
10-06-2009, 05:58 PM
Of course I would favor the Yankees, but MN could be hot at the right time, as the saying goes.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 05:59 PM
I dunno. The Twins haven't even won a game in Yankee Stadium since 07. And that was when Santana was on the mound. They just don't do anything well vs the Yankees.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 06:02 PM
That's why you put Joe Nathan out there to get the last SIX outs. Gardenhire's a dumbfuck.

DrRyan
10-06-2009, 06:02 PM
That was just a nasty pitch by Nathan there to tie up Laird.

DrRyan
10-06-2009, 06:13 PM
I know the Twins have been hot, but I just cannot see them going toe to toe and winning a series against the Yankees without Morneau's bat in the lineup(if they get the win here against the Tigers)

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 06:13 PM
Lyon was pretty solid in that half.

To the 9th.

And Santiago gets a bunt single and slid in just perfectly to make it.

WilliamTheIrish
10-06-2009, 06:16 PM
Granderson now 4 for his last 4 vs Nathan.

Unusual note: That's the 14th time or so that Chip Caray has described a hit as "Fisted".

Chip's a bit freaky...

DrRyan
10-06-2009, 06:19 PM
Gotta have a K or pop up on the infield right here if you are Nathan.

Wow. Detroit's really tightening up here. Dove for a ball in an effort to get an out and turned a guaranteed single into a triple. Dove for a ball hoping to get a double-play and didn't even get an out. Now it's 1st and 3rd with 1 out and 1 run in when it should probably be a man on 1st with 2 outs and no one in or, at worst, 1st and 2nd with 1 out.

I initially said I thought the Twins would give the Yankees a better series(4 games at best), but the more I think about it, the Tigers seem to match up better.

The Tigers are the team with a shut down starting pitcher. The Tigers have a hell of a lot more pop in their lineup than the Twins do without Morneau.

Regardless, if the Yanks series goes the full five games it would be a much better series than I plan on it being. Yankees in four games.

Boston or the Cardinals have the best chance. Strong #1 and #2 starting pitchers are the key to winning in a short series.

Bases loaded, no one out and Holliday, Ludwick, Molina and Delrosa coming up and we get one run. That was a big momentum killer. Holliday looking at 3 called strikes.:cuss:
