Comparing Poe to Jackson is pretty fucking stupid. Well done to Pioli for finally filling by far the biggest position of need on our defense.

The way I look at this years first round for the Chiefs was that whoever we took was somewhat of a luxury pick. What was available there, we didn't really need.

So we took a flyer on a guy with huge huge upside and a low low floor.

If he works out, which he very well could, we could have the most athletic dominant NT/ DL in the NFL.

If he doesn't work out, we whiffed again.

If your NT has to run 40 yards, the other team has a first down plus.

He's going into a 2 gap system with a head coach who knows how to teach defense. Sure the kid's a risk, but the potential is there for an extremely high reward if he pans out.

I think Poe will be a pleasant surprise, especially how down on him all of you are. I think Pioli may have gotten a little too greedy , wanting too much for the pick and was stuck making a last second pick. The eagles probably kept him on the phone , working a trade with Seattle at the same time then backed out on us in the last second.

QBs are risky. Missing on a QB in the first would set the franchise back 3-4 years. However, an honorable mention 4th-team All-Conference USA player is a worthwhile investment.

Boom or bust. This pick actually follows a pattern that Pioli seems to have started, pick the physical freaks and count on coaching them up. Baldwin and Bailey from last years draft come to mind.

Hope this kid isn't as lazy as a lot of people think.
