START DATE AND TIME: March 20th, noon central

RULES:

1. 12 hours for each pick. Unless it's on the weekends.....then your clock can go **** itself.

2. Make sure that you have PMs turned on. After you make your selection, PM the next person up to let them know that they're on the clock. If you know that you aren't going to be on and able to make your selection, PM a list of your desired picks (in the order you want them) to someone else. You can send those to me if you want since I won't be in control of any teams. If you miss your pick, you will be skipped and you'll have to make your pick as soon as you can. If you miss two consecutive picks, you lose your teams.

3. Format your selections as such: *Insert team name* selects Player Name, POS, School. Make sure they are bolded so that people can see them. You can add pictures and explanations if you'd like but they aren't required.

4. Do a search of the thread before you pick to make sure that the player hasn't been selected. If you pick a player that has already been drafted, you face the wrath of the entire thread and you'll have to correct it. So don't make a pick and then leave for 14 hours. Stick around and make sure that you didn't **** up.

The 49ers have a real shot at continuing to suck for the forseeable future. This is not a one-off season for a team that has been rudderless for a very long time.

So as they'll be picking in the top 5 again next year, a reach at QB just isn't gonna be in the cards here.

The 49ers select Marshon Lattimore, CB - Ohio State.

In all actuality, they need to trade out of this pick. There are a ton of guys that can help them and Allen seemed like a no-brainer until that damn shoulder thing. With that and a poor combine, there just doesn't appear to be a consensus #2. If the 49ers can trade to 5 or 6 and pick up as much as a 2nd for their troubles, they should do so. It 'loses' badly on the draft pick calculator but who gives a shit?

As ESPN's cameras start to lock on a moping Mitch Trubisky.

The nation waits and hopes for an Aaron Rodgers draft day slide. There's nothing more fun than watching a presumed top 5 pick fall past a couple landing spots and then sliiiiiiiiide into the late teens, early 20s.

With the 8th pick in the CP Mock Draft, The Carolina Panthers select Leonard Fournette, Running Back, Louisiana State University

http://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Leonard-Fournette-NFL-670x447.jpg

The Panthers want to get back to their roots of being a run-first LOS-dominator. No running back in this very deep class provides the sheer power that Fournette does, and while some may question the selection of a running back this early, Ezekiel Elliot's dominance last season shows that the position can still make a significant impact to a team right away. The addition of Fournette will take a large amount of pressure off of Cam Newton, who has essentially shouldered the offense since they lost Deangelo Williams' productivity. This will also move Jonathan Stewart back to a supplemental role, where he was more effective in the past.

I definitely didn't want to have to draft Cooks replacement with my first pick, but given the way the board fell, this is probably my best option. Not my top WR on the board, but he's the best fit, and his elite speed makes him worthy of being a top 15 selection. Sidney Jones would've been my pick here before the injury.

No such thing as a reach if the player's a great fit and you won't get another shot at him (and you wouldn't have; I'm not sure he'd have made it past Denver's spot but I know he wouldn't have made it past SFs).

I think Trubisky should've gone to the Chargers, truth be told.

As for the Browns - I just know so little about what kind of offense they'll actually try to run. He's not an 'all systems' type of QB - I don't think the arm talent is quite on par with those top 10 kind of passers. But put him in the right system and he can put up numbers on par with those guys because he appears to be a smart player.

I probably would've gone edge rusher for them there but Trubisky is a solid value there as well.

My logic would be the same as it was with SF - that team SUCKS. Horribly. If you're a team that is at the top of this draft because of some bad luck and you still need a QB (i.e. the Jets), I think you can justify a reach because you may not be drafting that high next year.

Personally I'd be shocked if the Browns and 49ers aren't in the top 5 again next year and able to draft a QB again that's a higher ceiling guy than Trubisky. But with a 1st committed to him, they aren't going to move on so they're hamstrung a little (though I guess it could allow them a good trade-back similar to what TN did).

No such thing as a reach if the player's a great fit and you won't get another shot at him (and you wouldn't have; I'm not sure he'd have made it past Denver's spot but I know he wouldn't have made it past SFs).

It's a muddy-ass middle that's built for trade-downs but a solid move in this kind of exercise.

Welp. That sounds familiar.

Hmm Rain man I'm not sure bout Mitchell.

He has been a browns fan for years so bringing a championship to Browns would be huge to him.

My problem with him is he couldn't beat QB out last year he is a one year wonder that worries me I would've taken Watson very underated.

If I went edge rusher, though, I'm giving up on Nate Orchard, who I still think has potential. He was a second-round pick two years ago, wrestled a starting job from Mingo at the end of his rookie season, and then went out for the year in Week 2 or something like that in 2016. I think he'll come back and be serviceable at a minimum.

And yeah, I really wanted to take Watson, but I figured Trubisky was a safer pick. We'll see if that plays out well or poorly.

garrett plus ogbah is a very nice young tandem for the edge rush. Orchard has actually played the run a lot better than he has rushed the passer since being drafted. Carl Nassib also did pretty well when they went to a four man front (that they'll be running under williams) towards the end of last season. at this point after drafting garrett, orchard is the 4th or maybe 5th (behind Tyrone Homes) DE.

I'm hearing that the Browns are shifting to a 4-3, so I'm assuming that their lineup would like something like this:

DE - Ogbah
DT - Meder
DT - Shelton
DE - Garrett (Nassib as backup)
OLB - Collins
OLB - Orchard
MLB - Kirksey (Davis as backup)

Does that look reasonable, clevesteve?

CleveSteve

I was assuming that Orchard would stay at OLB. No?

That's not clear at this point... I'm not sure he's fast enough to play linebacker for Williams. The Browns are going full-on four man front now and, as you know, Orchard played DE at Utah, and the biggest knock on him was his athleticism. The hosts of the Browns' official radio show (though they are not given information directly from the organization) expect he will be considered a DE by the new staff. One of the guys is Matt Wilhelm, so it's not like it's just a couple of posers like us.

It's a possibility, I'm not sure it's settled yet. Most expect that the third linebacker will be Demario Davis, but it's just a guess at this point as I'm not sure Williams is sure yet what it will be. If I had to guess, I'd put it like this:

LE: Ogbah, Nassib
NT: Shelton, Meder
3T: Des Bryant, Cooper/Gabe Wright
RE: Garrett, Holmes/Orchard

SLB: Collins, Schobert
MLB: Davis, Carder
WLB: Kirksey, Dom Alexander

With the 14th pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, The Philidelphia Eagles select Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida St

This is a complete against the grain pick for me. I don't like the thought of taking running backs in the first round. In today's NFL they don't hold that much value. Also, passing on what I consider multiple blue chip defenders to take a RB was even more difficult.

Now here's the juice.

For Doug Petersons offense to work effectively and for Carson Wentz to get some breathing room, the offense needs Dalvin Cook.

He's essentially tailor made for the offense.

He can get all of those screen opportunities and turn them into big gains. He's a hell of a running back that hits the hole as its opening up and has the acceleration and breakaway speed to get into the second and third levels of the defense consistently and he's a good pass blocker.

He probably has the potential to be another Jamaal Charles and TBH he reminds me of Charles with every run. The kid says he patterns his game after Jamaal.

I see it as a perfect fit for a young team like Philly with a young QB they are developing in Wentz. This gives him his blankey.

Yeah, Watson seems like a pretty poor fit in an Arians system. Kizer would've been my pick there if I had to take a QB (but more realistically, I don't take a QB; I have a 2 year window to take down a winnable division with Carson Palmer under center and Palmer can win me a championship so I capitalize on that window and take a pick that can help me now).

They evidently plan on holding private workouts with Trubisky. I can't see a reason to do so if they don't have a trade up at least under consideration.

I don't see any way Trubisky falls to the 20s. So if they move all the way up to 14, don't you think it's likely that Trubisky is the reason why?

Oh, and thank the Bucs for taking the guy that's probably not going to be able to play the left side anyway, had he taken this guy, you'd have been up shit's creek and ended up having to take Sac's sweet baboo and then taken him out for senior night as I think he's already 37 years old.

Horseface selects - Ryan Ramczyk, OT - Wis.

I shall now sit here and pout as better players are selected. **** you, Elway. Again.

Myles Garrett disagrees with you, though.

Eh, had you gone with Ramczyk, I'd have gone Robinson and taken the chance. We learned with Allen that sometimes just being really goddamn wide is all you need as an OT because it literally takes another step to get around your girth. Jeff Allen couldn't stay in front of anyone but they'd have to spend enough time trying to find where his mass stopped that the QB could get the ball off and he was generally an effective OT.

Now that won't translate quite as well to the left side, but it still counts for something. Robinson's a hell of a high upside guy and I was going back and forth for a bit before settling on Ramczyk, but I could've easily changed up again before you made the decision for me.

Look here, you horsefaced motherfucker. THIS is why you don't spend 3 seasons ignoring both bookends on your offensive line and creating a gaping void that I have no goddamn choice but to fill for you.

The hilarious thing is I think that's who they might actually pick. Lol. Pretty much for the reasons you posted.

Well done.

Thanks for making my pick guys, I got super fucking sick and have been in bed throwing up for about 2 straight days. Finally rolled my ass out to check on shit and realized this started.
For the record, I would not have picked an ILB at #7. I would have taken another player that happens to still be on the board, so I'll let you know who when they are selected.

I struggled between three different players for the Lions here. I will mention them when they get taken off the board. My gut is telling me to go with this guy though.

Detroit Lions Select Marlon Humphreys CB Alabama

Nice pick. I was considering this guy at 11. He reminds me of Landon Collins in that he is being labeled negatively as a typical Alabama DB prospect. I think he'll be another exception to the rule. Loved how he competed with Mike Williams in the NC game.

He is super athletic and has the long arms that help CB out immensely. There is just one guy that I think could be a difference maker on defense that I thought really hard about though too.

Well my bad - I dry fired a PM to Chiefscafan instead of Tambaberry. Doesn't seem to have mattered but I'm not sure why the hell I did that.

I was going to go back to back CBs if he somehow slipped to SF. Should've gone to TN, in all honesty. They're right on the cusp and had Davis, Ross or Williams slid to them that would've been perfect. Barring that, I think CB would've been the best match and also happened to have the most talented player left on the board.

Thought about going that route with Denver because Talib's probably in his last year there and I think Roby out wide is a hell of a risk for them. As a pure BPA pick, he was the choice. As a mix of BPA and need, there are a couple other guys still there that I'd have preferred.

But alas, none of those choices were really available for me.

Damn it. There goes my Raiders pick. He's a reach according to some, but he's this years Chris Jones if he does fall. Given that this years DL class is nowhere near as good, he's worth the risk IMO.

So I was a little torn here with the Giants. The defense played well last year, could use some more athletes in the front 7. The offense, could obviously use some more buzz and my QB is aging.

In the end, I could pass up on offense

the NY Giants select David Njoku, TE Miami

Paired with my WR's, Njoku fits well with all the 3 wr sets my HC likes.

Not a bad pick, I'd think they would go with one of the stud defenders left though. More weapons for Eli is never bad though
