FYI, KU fans

Quote:
ESPN's Game Day crew will be in Lawrence Saturday for KU's home game against Texas. The crew will set up in the lobby of Allen Fieldhouse on the tiled 'K' embedded in front of the trophy case on the east side.

After examining the fieldhouse prior to the season, ESPN decided to originate from the lobby because there was no where to put its crew inside the arena. The GameDay crew consists of host Rece Davis and analysts Jay Bilas and Digger Phelps. They will conduct telecasts at 10 a.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dick Vitale, who will serve as analyst for the game, also will appear.

Due to limited space, the fan group chosen for the 10 a.m. telecast will be the first 40 groups of KU student campers. The night shows will be limited to ticketed fans attending the game.

That's the most effective offense in basketball IMO. The key is to have guards and forwards who aren't afraid to attack the basket. When the D collapses, kick it out for the open jump shot. Coach K has built a career on it at Duke.

Anyone remember the Texas Tech game last year? KU was in the middle of their identity crisis, but went on the road and put up like 90 points on Texas Tech (they might have hit a hundred ). I haven't watched the Baylor game yet, but that was the type of game I was hoping to see from them last night. Doesn't sound like it was that good, but it's nice that there's a new level of focus on the offensive side of the ball, while getting back to good defense.

I've gotten used to the hi-lo, but I totally agree with the statement that they really need to concentrate on moving without the ball. They really get into trouble when they try to just force the ball inside.

Eh... a couple of weeks ago WF lost to FSU in OT because a WF player couldn't hit a couple of free throws to put FSU out of reach. Last weekend, a similar situation happened with that same WF player on the line at Cincy. The Cincy fans started doing the tomahawk chop.

Now that was funny.

KU needs to run the motion and hi-low , mix it up. It all starts with the guards, either offense.

Outside in, inside out, it doesn't matter if the guards don't penatrate, move around and able to hit the outside shot. If they aren't able to hit the outside, the defense will continue to collapse the middle.

My post about figure them out was this, thay have talent, they have the offense, they play better defense than most of the teams of the past.

Do the players have the desire and the heart or the belief that being in 2 of the last 3 Final Fours is going to get them there ?

Oh, no question they do.... however, they are just college kids, and they know it's a long season. We probably would have lost to Villanova had we played well.

It seemed like we were sleepwalking last year, and then we ended up peaking at the right time.

IMHO, there wasn't a team in the country short of pro ball that could have beat Villanova that day. Everything they did was good, shoot, rebound, defend, hustle..... No college team could have beat them, it was one of those days.
