Combine those factors with his age, and I think it's a recipe for a bad end to a good career. That's assuming he isn't just a backup. I also don't think Green, at his age, would have gardered a 2nd rounder in a trade last year, prior to the concussion. But that's just my opinion. I don't think any team is going to dish out that much for a 36-year old signal caller. Now we're a year later, after a serious injury and a poor season. As for Huard, I don't expect anything from him. He's had his 15 minutes in the sun. It was fun while it lasted, now it's back to mentoring the clipboard. |

If I thought we had the player talent and coaching talent to make a serious run, I'd definitely want Trent back. Given our Herminated offense, losing Green is anti-climatic. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Trent play very well for his next team, though. To me, starting Damon Huard is tantamount to throwing in the towel as far as winning championships is concerned. He may be able to "manage a game", but what happens when you fall behind? I guess for that matter, Herm's brand of offense itself has already thrown in the towel and is simply playing for 9-7 seasons. |

I'm sure that Solari was a part of that, I'm sure that the line was a part of that, I'm sure that the receivers were a part of that. I'm also, however, sure that Green himself is a part of that, and I think maybe the biggest part. |
