Falcons Hire Patriots Scouting Director as New GM - Page 2

Probably a pretty good hire. I know several on here have wanted to see Carl replaced with someone from the Pats organization. Here's the link:

The Falcons hired Patriots director of college scouting Thomas Dimitroff to be their next general manager.

Dimitroff was with the Patriots for six seasons and reported directly to Scott Pioli. He's known for his scouting acumen, but it's surprising that he got the nod over an experienced candidate like Tom Heckertt. This hire will invite speculation that Dimitroff could make a run at Patriots coordinator Josh McDaniels at the end of the playoffs.

At least I know they won't be hiring Pete Carroll now.

Is it really that hard to build a winner? You raid the good organizations. Meanwhile, we enter our third decade under Carl, and haven't won a playoff game since Joe Montana retired.

To me, this is Clark's last year to skate. If we're in the same position next year (a bad poorly coached team), Peterson is no longer responsible, Clark is.

Man, watching this Patriots team play, I wish we could get our hands on ANYONE from that organization.
