A Day Without Spending Money

It occurred to me that I didn't spend any money yesterday. Walked to and from the office from the train station - no taxis. I swore off Starbucks about two months ago. Had a lunch meeting so food was provided by the firm. Didn't buy a soda from the machine, or stop by the store to pick anything up, or go to a restaurant or a bar. Just went to work, came home, cooked dinner and stayed in.

The odd thing is I can't remember the last time I went an entire day without buying something. It may have been weeks. Or months. Maybe years.

So, do I just piss away too much money, or is this fairly normal?

Suitable response would be "why not? I've been giving her plenty of other 'instruction' lately".

For about a month after I got out of the Air Force....I didn't have a job by choice. I just wanted to relax for a month before I went out and worked again. There would be days that I didn't leave the apartment. I wouldn't spend money on food....anything. I'd just lay around the house....or clean....or play video games.

That sounds about like me after I dropped out of grad school.

My 'month' is approaching a decade.
