Some fans deserve to have their eyes ripped out with a pitchfork

So I'm browsing other boards tonight, and I almost choked to death when I saw a thread titled.."I miss Carl Peterson"...

The message inside was "we used to have a GM here."

I'm just completely numb from the complete stupidity I've witnessed on some boards. Chiefs fans have to be some of the dumbest ****ing creatures walking the planet.

Only on a Chiefs board would a ****ing moron say that they miss Carl Peterson. Last year, at this time, if you would have told me that Carl Peterson would resign and we would get Scott Pioli, I would have offered up my first born as collateral.

Now that we've traded the fan favorite, who ironically was a complete asshole to most fans, people are pining for the days of Carl?

Yeah, who needs playoff wins when we can have superstar tight ends and full backs.

****ing a.

I don't think Keitz is wrong to think Cassel is a franchise QB. He very well could be. In all fairness, he's LIGHT YEARS better than Thigpen, Huard, and Croyle. So it's easy to see where Keitz is coming from.

You guys should listen now. Petro is basically breaking down what KK said last night (without mentioning his name) and saying every point is stupid. Brian Waters is a team leader. Fans are going to regret that they ever applauded this trade. Todd Haley is on the hotseat now because of what he said to Brian Waters and he doesn't see how the Chiefs win more than 2 or 3 games when they're trading away all their stars.

KK wasn't saying he was "just" a TE - that carries a far different connotation. Tony had more receptions and TD's than alot of WR's, but Tony, by himself, doesn't break games open. He doesn't have huge YPC. He isn't a WR, he's a TE.

I like Petro (think he is the best in KC), but Waters is a big source and regular interview for him. I'm sure he is a bit butt hurt that things are changing.

I personally think that its awesome that the media will actually have to work now to get info.

Keitzman spent yesterday afternoon saying that the Chiefs fanbase needs to get over Gonzales - he's a TIGHT END - and it might just be that, because we put too much emphasis on guys like Tony G, Will Shields, and Tony Richardson, THAT is why we haven't won a Super Bowl.
While I can see that point, I don't think it's true. Tony G was a difference maker, especially in Vermeil's scheme. The reason the Chiefs didn't win a Super Bowl under Vermeil is not because they paid too much attention to role players. It's because an arrogant GM settled for second-wave free agents to patch up his defense and was so faithful to his inner network of friends that he refused to fire any of Robinson's assistants and replaced Robinson with one of his friends without opening up the interview process. I still can't help but dream of how far the Chiefs could have gone if Peterson interviewed someone outside the organization to be his defensive coordinator after GRob was fired.

We may never know for sure but I believe it was Carl's final say that enabled Grbac to come back for the '97 playoffs, based on comments I heard on 101 the Fox and then later from Marty on NFL Live I think he wanted to stay with Gannon but the King overruled him.

I don't think KK is wrong to think that because it is his opinion and I hope Cassel ends up being the franchise QB. Maybe it was just the way he was saying things yesterday that struck me wrong like when he said he would have gotten rid of Tony a few years ago.

I think Petro is wrong that people are overwhelming applauding this trade I see the opposite plus he seems upset since he lost access.

I disagree because I remember several games Tony just took over and opened up the game offensively.

Plus teams really didn't treat Tony as a TE. Denver stuck Champ Bailey on him alot of times.

Petro just said that Chase Coffman is the #1 tight end in this draft.

He also said we'll never trade for Boldin because of his personality conflict with Todd Haley (apparently he missed the Boldin interview where he said he'd love to play for Haley again).

I think Petro has lost it. Either that, or 810 demands some kind of polar balance and if Keitzman is being the voice of reason, they need Petro to be the other end of that...

I'm not BLAMING Tony Gonzales.

But you have to acknowledge the POSSIBILITY that we spent too much money on positions that shouldn't have warranted the money, thus preventing us from winning it all.

I'd sure love to get that mystery cleared up once and for all.

I think he's the best pass catching TE in the draft. He wasn't really asked to block at MU but that doesn't mean he can't. I bet if Coffman stays healthy he has a very solid NFL career.

I'm not convinced he's even the best pass-catching TE in the draft. Because of the offense, he's more of a bigger, slower WR than a real TE. The spread offense really makes these kind of players hard to evaluate because they're not put into NFL-like matchups and situations.
