I am baby sitting my daughters English Bulldog this weekend

This dog really thinks it is human. Instructions went as follows...make sure you keep ice in her water she likes it that way. Put on her eye medicine and put in her ear drops twice a oh and give her these pills twice a day also. Be sure and give her a treat when you are done. Oh and take her for a walk three times a day. Dont let her get too hot she can not handle the heat. If you have to go anywhere make sure if you take her that you do not leave her in the car even at a Quik Trip store, people steal these type of dogs all the time (I am certain that if someone steals this thing they will hunt me down and give it back)

Anyway she dropped it off thursday night everything goes pretty smooth and the other half just fawns over her. Well bed time comes and it becomes clear this frigging dog is set on sleeping with us! A stand off begins with the dog winning. I have never in my life known a dog that snores well I do now.

Friday I drive across town to check on our "grand dog" and yes there is trash spread through out the house along with pillows and clothes. I clean up and haul ass back to work. Now the other half is out of town to vist her dad and it is me and the grand dog. It is going to be a long weekend.

They are good looking dogs and I have become a fast study. From what I have read and going by Oakley they are good natured and loving. I took Oakley for a pretty good walk in the park (30 minutes) and it was high 70s she was beat breathing heavy and drooling. I cooled her off in the truck and drove her to my nephews house a few blocks from the park to get her some water (she would not drink from the lake I tried, the ice in the water thing my daughter warned me about lol) My nephew has a English Bulldog pup male a little different type he only paid eighteen hundred for his ( I cant imagine paying that for a dog and my daughters goes for more than that!) anyway they played together and his dog like Oakley is a sweet dog without a mean bone between the two of them. I guess they are neat dogs and look cool and are loving but I have been around dogs like that saved from the pound and they do not overheat in 70 degree weather and do not cost thousands. It comes down to what you want I guess.

I mean this in the nicest possible way and in no offense to your family. But the complaints you have, have nothing to do with the dog or breed(well maybe the medicine) but have to do with how it was raised.

From my experience with those things I've learned that they are mindless forces of nature. Good luck.

Cool I did not raise it and after this weekend the dog goes home. My daughter can treat it however she wants

i've got one too. he's not mine though. my son and daughter-in-law raised him in a 3rd floor apartment while they went to school. they graduated, and started having kids and decided they didn't need a dog in the house. so they left him, a doghouse, and a bag of food at my place one day while i was at work.

i don't know about your bulldog, but i've pulled chewed up pop bottles, tennis balls, garbage bags, and who knows what outta that dogs asshole over the 3 years i've had him. scared to death of rain/storms. fights w/the weed eater. tries to chew on the 4wheeler tires(his jaws have been wired back together). and goes through a 50lb bag of dog food every 2 weeks.

the only thing i dread about him dying, is i'm going to have to dig a hole big enough for his fat ass to bury him.

sec

LOL sounds about my dog...esp. the chewing shit up and being scared of storms. He tries to be a big bully but he acts like a little wimp when it thunders, cracks me up.

Mine will literally try to attack the vacuum as well...it's seriously like his arch nemesis lol. It's funny to watch him get ready when it's time to use it.

english bulldogs are pretty cool. other than the medical conditions that go along with them. i wouldn't trade my lab/pit mix for anything though.
