What's funny is that people say the OL got better at the end of year, in part because sacks went down, but nobody wants to give any credit that the reason sacks were down may be because of the combination of improved OL play and Cassel getting rid of the ball faster.

OK, here is my line of thinking. You are an opposing DC prepairing to play KC. Do you take away the run? Or do you take away the pass? If it is me, I take away Charles and see if Cassel can make the plays.

If opposing DC's do put 8 in the box to take Charles out of the gameplan, we now have the weapons for Cassel to make them pay. And those weapons can take the ball to the house. Bowe can. Chambers can. McCluster can. And Mieoke (sp) can. But Cassel has to be able to hit those receivers... something he was not able to do last season when given the opportunity to pass.

If he does hit them this season, this offense could be fun to watch. Damn fun. If he can not hit them... might be time for a new signal caller. Even if O'Callahan isn't the greatest RT in the league.

It's on Cassel. Nothing more. Nothing less.

You take away the run and let him throw to guys with hands of stone and a scatback KC is trying to convert.

I honestly don't think RT will be as big of a problem as people think. RT play was not good by any means but it was a rotating door until O'Callaghan got in there. And Brandon is fine.

Oline at the end of the year was playing good enough to get things done. Different guys on the inside and a new RB helped greatly.

Time for Cassel to make his move this year. No more excuses.

McCluster is actually not a complete conversion type of guy. His first two years at Ole Miss were at the slot WR position. He proved at the Senior Bowl that he was very good with the tree routes and catching the ball. He is better version of Dante Hall at WR imho.

With that said, Cassel does have a lot of toys now and has no excuse this season. This coming years draft class of QB's is stronger than this year. With the likes of Locker, Mallet, Luck, possibly Gabbert, etc. will make many franchises happy.

I guess I just have more faith in the Chiefs than you do. Cassel is the one that makes we waiver in my faith on the offense. Not everyone else Pioli and Haley have surrounded him with.

It will never be Matt Cassel's fault that he sucks. It will always be someone else on the team.

Haley pulled the plug on Leinart in Arizona when he wasn't getting it done. I suspect Cassel will be a bit more on the short leash this seaon than last season if he is not performing with the weapons that he will have surrounding him this season.

Brandon wasn't fine for most of last year
O'callaghan was average last year

If Cassel gets hit on step 7 of any 7-step drop then it's a major dam problem.

I certainly understand that you have faith in the WR corps that led the league in dropped passes.

So Cassel is part of the reason why sacks went down, but he's not part of the reason why we led the league in drops, a very subjective statistical category?

Actually, yes I do. I still think Bowe is one hell of a receiver. And I have always kind of liked Chambers. McCluster looks like an absolute stud. And I watched several Iowa games last season and was very impressed with the TE. I don't mind Charles in the passng game either.

If Cassel can connect with these guys, this offense couold be very exciting to watch.
