To All You Matt Cassel Haters...

I remember early in the season so many fans were hating on Cassel as not being any good. Needing to replaced. blah blah blah. The last laugh is on you now. He's a great QB and helped get the Chiefs to where they are. In fact, without Cassel, the Chiefs wouldn't even have a winning record. I was supporting him since the beginning and I love rubbing it in the face of those babies that hated on our best chance to get to the Super Bowl. Every Matt Cassel hater should get on this board and post an apology.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess his birth-date is 11-24-1960.

Because I'm assuming his handle is as original and witty as his posts in this thread, that's why.

I guess that makes me stupid, though I'm not bragging.

My reasoning from the get go has been that the same people who scouted him also scouted Leinart, Palmer and Brady. I firmly believed from the start he just needed playing time after being on the bench for so long, and that they saw something in him they thought was legit...and they were right.

On the converse...think of how long this guy waited for this chance...to be the sarter of his OWN team..... he's running with it, and inspiring others through it. I'm glad it worked out, because as much as the game is mental, last year could've easily crushed his career.

Last season he was sacked over 50 times....and who knows HOW many times he was pressured and hit the turf. It is REALLY hard to play under those conditions....really hard to develop and learn the ropes....

Wait and see how good he gets when we spend some money and get even more talent. I am riding a high right now, but the sky is the limit IMO.
I've said this many times before.

While the O-Line shares the blame, Cassel was equally responsible for the number for sacks he took last year.

His poor mechanics in his drops, and inability to make reads, and holding the ball too long, were big contributors to that number, as they were big contributors to the 47 sacks he took in '08 behind the line that gave up fewer combined sacks in '07 and '09 to Brady.

Weis did a great job early in the season in getting Cassel to get the ball out quickly to avoid those sacks, and Weis and Nick Siriani (according to an article earlier) have done a great job in developing his mechanics.

All credit to Cassel himself also, because he put in the extra work to get here, and moving forward, I fully expect with his work ethic, he'll build on this.

As for the jackass that started this dumbass thread, he had one post in which he calls Cassel "servicable" to go along with the post that Donger presented earlier.

Those are the only posts that he discusses Cassel at all.

That's what I call support.
Way to go out on a limb there.

an average quarterback can suddenly be a very good quarterback with the right supporting cast. if he posesses the ability to raise the level of play from the team because they believe in him then he can be a great quarterback.

I actually wasn't wanting to do it to be a dick. I actually thought it would make some people laugh over this. It actually started a discussion in another thread that didn't revolve around Cassel sucking. I am done though.
