I remember early in the season so many fans were hating on Cassel as not being any good. Needing to replaced. blah blah blah. The last laugh is on you now. He's a great QB and helped get the Chiefs to where they are. In fact, without Cassel, the Chiefs wouldn't even have a winning record. I was supporting him since the beginning and I love rubbing it in the face of those babies that hated on our best chance to get to the Super Bowl. Every Matt Cassel hater should get on this board and post an apology.

We could win two SBs behind Cassel, everyone on here could totally convert to be a total Cassel supporter, having repented for all of our "hating" and somebody who was silent through all of his suckage will start a thread "To all of you Cassel Haters".......

Yes, he's doing well. Yes He has made a super impressive turn this year. Yes, He is far better than I ever anticipated him capable of being. Even if he tanks for the next several years, what he has accomplished this year can never be taken away from him as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see him regressing, only getting better with time and more targets to throw to.

Here's the thing about it....most of us that were most critical have been admitting the FAIL for over a month now. I would say we repented fairly quickly considering the fact that we suffered through 20 terrible and mediocre games at best .

I agree and am now completely behind him. I believe that he will only get better and the offensive line has given him opportunity and he has taken full advantage of it. This is the most enjoyable batch of crow that I've ever eaten.

Last season he was sacked over 50 times....and who knows HOW many times he was pressured and hit the turf. It is REALLY hard to play under those conditions....really hard to develop and learn the ropes....

Wait and see how good he gets when we spend some money and get even more talent. I am riding a high right now, but the sky is the limit IMO.

In the overall scheme of ROR FAIL it's a pretty small point, but one thing I NEVER doubted about MC is how TOUGH that sumbitch is.
He has literally taken piss-poundings that would send MANY a Colt lineman to the CFL, and he's NEVER thrown any of those guys under the bus.
In terms of work-ethic and being a leader, I don't see many who can match him.

I don't doubt most of that. There were a lot of bad areas and that has proven to be so. I do think that he is as good as his o-line which is the case with most QBs. Look at Trent...he was outstanding for the vast majority of his time at KC until the line dismantled. I don't think he has had time to prove what he could do. But let's face it....signing a guy for that huge of a contract when he really wasn't proven as a starter (IMO)was a huge risk. Maybe it wasn't completely his fault that he was terrible, but it doesn't change the fact that he was terrible.

If he keeps his progression up Pioli will have grabbed an elite franchise QB for a 2nd round pick. That's theft in most parts of the world.

Easy on the easies. Let's not crown him yet. I have been on his boat all year, but now we really get to see what type of QB he can be.

Good post. There were a lot of reasons/excuses given for Cassels poor performance last year. Some of them were probably legit, but bottom line was not all of the problems were the O-line, WR's, or the RB's fault. Many of them were, but many fell right in Cassels lap as well.

And it was tough early this season watching him not perform up to the level he is playing at now... yet talking/acting as if he was playing well.

Kudos to the coaching staff and to Cassel for what has transpired this season at the QB position. It has been nothing short of miraculous.
