Stupid decisions ruin the NFL!

We are all big football fans on this forum. But there are some things I just hate about the game today! I say that the biggest problem in the league is how meaningless PR decisions have become a controlling factor for many teams, rather than commitments to teamwork and team development!

What am I talking about? Well...

I hate how so many teams just change QBs on a whim in the middle of a season to try to appease the fan base. They want to sell more tickets by looking like they're "DOING SOMETHING" and so they hurt the team by making random changes! Look at Washington, Oakland, Indianapolis and Denver. They are struggling to win, so instead of trying to improve by committing to teamwork and continuity, they randomly throw new QBs into the system and just hope something sticks.

This is stupid!

Everybody knows that you can't just sign a QB to a team and put him in five days later and magically expect that the team will improve. Do you remember during the lockout controversy, how Peyton Manning said that he wanted to make sure that long training camps and team activities were kept on the table? His reason for this was because he said it was absolutely necessary to maintain a high level of play! Practice and teamwork are much more important than individual talent! You can't just randomly keep putting new players in hoping that they will cause a spark! Sorry, but it just doesn't work that way! If you think it does, you are an ignorant fan!

The same is true for coaches. Why do teams stupidly fire their coach in the middle of the season, as if this will somehow bring an improvement? It doesn't! If a team happens to win a game after that, it's just luck!

How are we suppose to take the football opinion of a poster with a "Start Croyle" handle seriously?

Does it really matter what his name is?

Has he expressed an opinion that should be taken seriously?

I agree with the part about taking out 2 a days from TC and limiting practice.

Pretty dumb shit in my mind and something that can only come from a union.

Unions try to say they are about having the best skilled workers yet they try to make everything easier on the workers.

It don't work like that. This isn't 1930.

I agree. I think that is why we are seeing so many shitty games this year. Just not enough time on the field in practice

Just like assholes, everyone has an opinion. Doesn't mean you should start a thread about it.

Owners have to act when the fan base is revolting. Only when season ticket holders stopped renewing and Arrowhead had empty seats did the Hunts show King Carl the door. It wasn't on the field performance, they had sucked for 10 years.

You don't let the fan base run your team but you can't ignore them either.

Really?

I don't give a shit what you want to think, a team goes 9-0 they don't stink.

2003 besides the again brutal ending was one of the funnest football seasons I have ever watched. We ****ing schooled teams.

That team was no more flawed than the 90's teams who struggled on offense but got people into it with dominant defense. It was just an opposite issue.

By your logic KC has sucked for 40 years.

If you qualify "suck" as missing out on or losing playoff games, we have sucked for 40 years ... or 50.

That's the real issue with the Chiefs. Even when we looked like we could make a run, we were fatally unbalanced. And, of course, our playoff record is horrific.

But, that's why Chiefs fans masturbate a lot, I suppose.

Big difference between sucking and getting to Mecca Mr.Fax.

I am not happy as a fan to have never watched my Chiefs in a SB, not happy even a little, but I will be damned if I will allow them to be called sucky for 40 years when they havnen't been sucky for 40 years.

Some damn great Chiefs teams have taken the field over the last 40 years.

You conveniently failed to acknowledge that Ponder was a winner this week.... so not 100% correct. Also, I understand your argument, but you're wrong.

The Chiefs have made a Stupid Decision(tm) of their own! They have fired their head coach for no justifiable reason at all! I don't even like Todd Haley. It is strange for me to defend him! I'm sure many of the less intelligent fans are citing the losing record and struggles the team has faced as the reason for Haley's departure. But this is not a very good reason to fire Haley right now!

This coaching change was pointless and stupid and only made to create the facade that the organization is doing something! Unfortunately, decisions in the NFL of today seem mostly to be based on emotions and posturing/posing instead of rationality!

Ask yourself these three questions:

1) If this change was made from a competition standpoint, how much more competitive do the Chiefs expect their team can be by firing Haley?

2) If this change is not made for competition, what is the benefit to the franchise by firing their coach RIGHT NOW instead of at least waiting until the end of the season?

3) Who do the Chiefs expect to be able to replace Haley with that is a clear long-term improvement?

I challenge any of you to prove why firing Haley RIGHT NOW makes any sense at all! What did the organization possibly gain by doing this?

1. One less person questioning Pioli's idiotic moves.
2. Paves the way for Pioli to hire McDaniels and bring back Cassel.

I can think of more but it's a waste of time.

Except that the run defense was one of the worst in the history of football and most of us knew that 9-0 was a mirage that would be crushed in the playoffs.

This firing at this time had nothing to do with competitiveness. It was done because Clark was embarrassed by the actions of the leader of the team yesterday. By allowing him to finish the season, he would have been giving Haley opportunity to do more things that would be an embarrassment to the Hunts, KC and all Chiefs fans.

Just my opinion.
