The issue for a GM is opportunity cost. What was the cost of switching to a 3-4?

A: Tyson Jackson, a #3 overall pick, plus an assortment of NTs like Gregg and Powe and OLB rushers like the Third spent on tokin Houston.

The cost of keeping Babin and Hali in a 4-3 was nothing. You want a QB? Go back and re-think that in terms of the picks the Chiefs had, and what Pioli did with them, and how many were "re-creating the Pats" especially a 3-4 that was a huge cost and a waste of time given what a 4-3 with Babin and Hali looks like retrospectively...
