We would learn more from questions like:

What do you look for in a QB in the draft?
What type of offensive linemen do you prefer, why?
What is the most important position on defense?
Is there a position that's easier to fill in FA than the draft?
What positions, on offense or defense, do you think can be game changer?
In the modern NFL, how much time can you give a player you drafted until he needs to produce on the field or get cut?
This, I agree.

If Geno grades out as a top 10 pick, then you probably pull the trigger at the top spot anyway. If he and the rest of the QBs grade out in the end of the first round, trading back is the responsible thing to do.
In the history of the NFL. When has a franchise moved up to the #1 pick to draft a LT????????????? When has a franchise moved up to the #1 pick for any position other than QB??????????

That was before the new rookie cap. No one moved to first last year but, every team from #2 to #7 traded.

It's really stupid. They are not going to lock themselfs into something public. Why would they? They have the #1 pick.

All teams have someone that they love, their must have player. The only way to guarantee that players is yours is have the #1 pick.

If we can go down to #5 and still get Gino and have the the 33rd and 38th pick in the draft, thats a serious win for us.

You never limit your options.

That means you never commit to drafting a player before the draft. You never say we must resign Albert because his agent will increase the price.

Its all a very complicated game of cards. I have yet to see a poker play announce his cards at the table, even when they have pocket aces.

Exactly, thats why this period before the draft is so maddening, its all just a big game of "try to bullshit the bullshitter".

Believe NOTHING right now.

Exactly. The only thing wrong with Joeckel is that he doesn't play QB.

If we let Albert walk and draft Joeckel and get a QB some other manner than #1 overall, how many more games are we gonna win? Joeckel VS Albert?

Just talk about football. Just ask generic football questions. Get them talking about the game - not their team, not their strategy - just the game of football. I guarantee you will get more information out of "Why do you think some guys bust?" than "who are you drafting #1?!"

If you get them talking, they will reveal attitudes, thoughts, opinions that they would never explicitly express when asked for them directly.

You my friend, are exactly right on!

It's not fun, nobody likes to hear it and it squashes all the fun of per-draft talk and assumptions but everything these guys are saying right now is total BS for all the other 31 teams listening get thrown off their trail.
