Reid never says much of anything, no substance, just a lot of "we'll see" "we will look into it" "we need to do better" "we need to evaluate"

Its early and because he doesn't have much to say is why he's doing local radio. He won't be doing any interviews in two months when it would be useful.

Truth be told, has there ever been a GM interview anywhere that was really informative?

They're all filled with non-answers.

If we think that Joeckel is the best player available, we should definitely show high interest in him.

Teams will trade up for a franchise LT--and if they think we will take him that means that they would have to trade up to the top spot.

If Geno grades out as a top 10 pick, then you probably pull the trigger at the top spot anyway. If he and the rest of the QBs grade out in the end of the first round, trading back is the responsible thing to do.

New Chiefs General Manager John Dorsey has a big decision ahead of him with the first overall pick in the NFL draft. But he wants Chiefs fans to understand that this year’s draft is not like last year’s draft.

Dorsey said on 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City that the 2012 draft, with Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III at the top and a lot of talent beyond those two, was the kind of draft that doesn’t come along every year. Or even every decade.

“That’s one of those drafts that come along every two decades, maybe every three decades, when you have that many impact players,” Dorsey said.

So what about this year? Dorsey says that just because the Chiefs would like to find a franchise quarterback, that doesn’t mean they’re going to draft a quarterback first overall if they don’t determine that there’s a quarterback worthy of going first overall.

“I will never attempt to reach or jump on a player just for need’s sake,” Dorsey said. “We’re not going to do that here.”

Asked if it’s still possible that the Chiefs will stick with Matt Cassel as their starting quarterback in 2013, Dorsey said, “Well, you never say never.”

That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of Cassel. But it also may turn out that Cassel is the best option the Chiefs have.
IE what my predecessor did with Jackson and Poe, yeah, that's why we've got the first overall pick...

Cassel is ONLY the best option if we do nothing period with the QB position. We would be throwing out the same only to get the #1 pick next season.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Based on the interview I heard with Holthus and Keitzman yesterday, when Holthus was talking about conversations with Clark Hunt regarding the QB position, I came away 100% convinced that not only would Cassel not be an option moving forward, but that he is going to push for this organization to be more active in trying to find that championship QB.

It may all be Holthus BS, but I am at least convinced Cassel is done...
