I actually wasn't too surprised by any of these. I think a few of the least talented like kickers and Cassel play at positions that either allow for constant second chances or are safe positions.



Agreed. Kasl might surprise me least of all. He was made to be a backup QB and as you said the position has a long life span.

Sometimes having a warm body makes you $2.5 a year for throwing balls in practice.

It really is fascinating to pore over the dying franchises he was brought into to no avail in their death throes. He's had an arc that started in the last 5 or so episodes of a series more often than just about anyone. Vehicles as diverse as The Love Boat and The West Wing. Happy Days he was in well past the shark jump. Even in Married With Children [his most notable role probably] he was the replacement husband.

Disagree: He was on Love Boat for two seasons, Happy Days for 2 seasons and Married with Children for 6 seasons, not the last 5 episodes. Yes, all those shows died with him in the cast...I remembered Dynasty (2 seasons) but not the West Wing gig.

I didn't say that he was in the last 5 of EVERY SHOW he was on, just a lot, and many more waning days.
