Life Lost my first dog tonight - Page 4

Just posting this on here because this is a shock as Starr, my husky, was only 6 years old. Just need some good vibes and some funny comments tonight to list my spirits. Going to watch some Patrick Mahomes highlights to help cheer me up. Thanks guys

Y’know, you never get these threads from fish people.

It’s rough dealing with the loss of something you care about deeply—like a dog, or a string trimmer or sometimes even a wife. Best to have two of everything.

Went and picked up an 8 week old white husky puppy. This’ll help the healing process. She’s a doll

Its never a replace thing for me. Just starting a new chapter. Giving a new dog some loving, steady home and food. Always go rescue myself.

That’s exactly what I told myself. Brand new chapter. Each dog will be like a new chapter in a book.

The way dogs look at you when they pass, and the way they look at you as pups, I always wondered if they are somehow reincarnated. I actually looked at my dog once and said something to the likes of "Kegan, is that you" (Kegan was the dog I had previous). And she stared at me. Like really deeply. Anyhow, I'm sure it's rubbish, but I've always treated them like they are my last dog reincarnated. Helps with the healing and makes you treat them real well.

We've all been there as pet owners, it's always rough. My cat Midnight, who was the first cat I adopted on my own, died recently due to kidney failure. We tried to fight it for six months but he just eventually stopped eating and it was either more blood tests and more weight loss or end it. He was such a good cat too, always talked to you, always sat by your side, could've lived for another 10 years easy as he was only 8 and all my cats usually lasted towards 20. It's rough, my condolences on the loss. If you have place in your home and in your heart, there is no reason not to adopt another animal. Just do it when it feels right.

Well Zsa Zsa sleeps in the spot at times where Starr passed, and carries her chain out in the yard that I had Starr hooked up to when she wanted to lay out. So it’s crazy sometimes but they have a sense about things.
