Internet Debate: 100 Men vs. 1 Gorilla

This has been going viral the past couple days.

Who would win in a fight: 100 unarmed men or 1 gorilla?

I personally think the sheer number of humans would overpower the gorilla and people are both 1. Underestimating how many people 100 is, and 2. Overestimating the strength and stamina of a gorilla.

Verdict: 100 men win fairly comfortably with the caveat that there will be some casualties.

What say you? 100 men or 1 gorilla?

For you guys talking about mindset and morale, is facing a gorilla that much more daunting than landing on Omaha Beach? That was a bunch of randomly selected American men, and they manned up.

It's also similar to the bravery needed to ask a girl out on a date, and most random men have done that. That's a different kind of danger, but nonetheless a situation where extreme bravery is required.

A small Ranger platoon of 25 could take that gorilla. 12 focus on the nuts, 12 on the asshole. The spare can be a roving attacker and get his shots in when presented with an opportunity. Any torn torso or body pieces may also be used as weapons.

I think they’ve genuinely never put themselves in harms way. Either in defense of themselves or another.

I’ve always been braver than I should be but even at my advanced age… I was at Mexico vs Uruguay. I can still pick up a dude and throw him at another dude.

You think the 17-22 yr-olds today could storm Omaha Beach?

And when has a man ever had to worry about a girl rejecting him by ripping his arms off?

The human mind wins. Assuming this encounter isn't just in a blank room void of anything of use, the human mind and capability to create traps, weapons, etc would win the day with minimal casualties.

Even if it was a bunch of guys in an impossibly blank room and small area, as long as you don't have a bunch of morons in there, someone would go for the eyes and/or kick the gorilla in the dick which would allow some effort of tactical advantage for the men as humans are baseline logical enough that concepts like 'targeting' are simple enough concepts to provide the men an advantage over the gorilla.
