We will beat the Ravens...Here's why

Joe Flacco the last 3 games has averaged 133 yards per game.

172 /Texans

102 / Brown

125 / Bengals

Those teams suck !

We stop Ray Rice and they are thru. Our young fast secondary will take advantage of an inept Flacco.

We put up 17 points. We win by 10.

Like your optimism...but it's the "...stop Ray Rice" part I am a bit concerned about.

Me too, but KC stopped CJ and good things happened.

Is always easier to cherry pick stats to be negative... But how many Career days have the Ravens given up this year?

I don't know why people are worried about Ray Rice. We have done much better against Ray Rice type backs than we have against big backs.

Defensively, they are overrated. They can't rush the passer. Their "vaunted run defense" is overrated. If you look at their games, they aren't really stopping the teams #1 back. They are doing a great job against backups. (IE, Charles will get his yards and Thomas will get 2.2 YPC). If you look at the list below, not only aren't the stopping teams #1 RB's but they haven't faced a back of the caliber of Charles except Adrian Foster, who averaged 5.0 YPC.

Thomlinson -- 5.6 YPC
Cedric Benson -- 3.4 YPC (about his average)
Peyton Hillis -- 6.5 YPC
Mendenhall -- 3.2 (average is 3.9 over the season, but this was with Charlie Batch in at QB)
Moroney -- 4.5 (6 carries, denver hardly ran it)
Woodhead -- 5.7 (never heard of him, 11/63 for NE)
Fred Jackson -- 3.2 (who?)
Ronnie Brown -- 6.6
Michael Turner 2.3 (first good RB that they've stopped. 9 games into the season. Granted, anyone that watches football knows that he's lost a step)
M. Goodson -- 5.5 YPC (20/120..who?)
Blount -- 4.2 YPC
Mendenhall -- 2.4 YPC (rematch wasn't good. Big Ben was in, so no excuse. Still a 3.9 YPC back though)
Adrian Foster -- 5.0 YPC
Pierre Thomas 3.3 YPC (Year average is 3.2)
Peyton Hillis -- 2.9 YPC (McCoy was in, terrible offensive day overall by the Browns)
Benson --2.5 YPC (It's the Bengals)

The more and more that I look at the Ravens, the more I think we have a better than 50/50 chance to win.

OK....then let me reword my point.

Chiefs gave up 137 yards to a second string RB at home in their last game. I hope they solved whatever problems they had.

In the case of Knowshon, the Chiefs were playing extra DBs to ground Air Orton. They most likely won't be doing that against Joe Flacco.

In the case of the Raiders, the Chiefs did well against them in the first game and I don't think you can take too much out of the week 17 contest.

We can win if the Ravens D does not take JC out. Look at the 2008 playoff game with the Titans. CJ was running all over the field until Raw Lewis bent him backwards and took him out the game, after that the game was over.

The Ravens are big and strong but not fast and strong, which plays into the Chief's favor with JC.

Should be a good game... won't be easy for either team. KC is still a tough place for visiting teams, will be crazy this weekend I'm sure.

But, don't discount the Ravens so easily... the Chiefs have their fair share of warts as well. They have a good team and a lot of playoff experience in recent years.

I think there's a game against the Saints that was between the Texans and Browns. I agree that the Chiefs can beat the Ravens, but there's something else about all those games you listed- the Ravens won them.

Ravens lost 4 games ... Bengals (week 2), then the Patriots, Falcons and Steelers. The last three are all in the playoffs with 14, 13 and 12 wins respectively. The Ravens also beat the Jets, Steelers, Bucs and Saints - all solid records.

Chiefs lost 6 games ... Colts, Texans, Raiders X2, Broncos and Chargers. The Chiefs beat one team that made the playoffs... the Seahawks.

Gimme Ravens by 10.
