Go for two after Skyy TD?
Moore scores 9:22 left to put us up 7 (34-27). Do you go for two?
Pro: -you’re up two scores if you convert. Philly needs two possessions to even have a chance. The way we controlled the ball that might be difficult -if you don’t convert and Philly scores, it would take balls of steel for Sirianni to go for the win so you’re unharmed. Esp with their likely being plenty of clock for Patrick. Odds they kill 9min are slim Con: -If you don’t convert he actually *might* show those balls and we can’t stop Hurts running -even if you do, you might entice them into an onsides kick with plenty of time (4min?) Net: I’d do this more often if I’m a coach but Philly might be the exception |

I thought the same thing. I would have gone for 2. I'd love to see some stats on the probabilities, though.

I understand the thought process, but you kick the XP to go up 8. It's a relative gimme and you then force them to go for 2 if they score. If you don't convert, you take pressure off of them.

You go up 8, Sirianni most likely goes for two if they score anyway.

Absolutely go for 2.
A play from the 2 yard line to make it a 2 score game in the fourth quarter is always a go. You give yourself a chance to essentially keep them from ever having the ball with a chance to tie you. |

Second counterpoint: while you give yourself the chance to keep them from having the ball again with a chance to tie you, you also open yourself up to the possibility of getting the ball back with a 1 point deficit. I was happy they didn’t go for 2. I felt great on that Eagles drive that the absolute worst case scenario is we’d get the ball back tied with Mahomes having an opportunity to do what he usually does. |

It would certainly stand to reason that an Eagles team whose strength is running the ball who confidently runs it on 3rd and 8 and goes for it regularly on 4th and short would’ve gone for 2 in an attempt to get the lead and put the dagger in us.

Why wouldn't they go for every 2 point play then?

Did anyone else notice Elliot's plant ankle on his last kickoff? It slipped and rolled much like Butker's did in our opening game. They may have gone for 2 because it is possible that Elliot may have much less than 100% at that point. He never kicked again in the game; it was the kickoff after the field goal in the third.
