Would you take Nagy back as OC?
Assuming this is the year Bieniemy finally gets a HC gig, would you support bring Nagy back into the fold?
Yes or no. |

Nah, I’d prefer giving the job to Kafka.

I agree. We know what and who Nagy is.
We might have a future HC in Kafka. I want to see what he’s got as OC.

I'm not saying I would definitely do it, but if PM endorsed the idea, sure - why not? Nagy can be a HC in this league and a relatively decent one. If you asked me who probably has more career wins as a head coach in the league 10 years from now, I'd say it's likely Nagy. The guy's not an idiot just because he couldn't fix Mitch Trubisky.

Nagy had Trubisky shoved down his throat and had an above average season from him when he was in his first year as HC in 2018. Trubisky then went back to being Trubisky and the defense started to age out of its prime. And if we're going to be completely honest, giving that much trade capital for a LB (Mack) is a terrible trade regardless of how the picks turn out for the Raiders. I'm not saying Nagy's a great coach, but he's not Brad Childress or Pat Shurmur either. Quote:
He brought in Foles to basically be a starter or to push Trubisky and he failed to do that. Then, they brought in Dalton to be a placeholder for Fields while Foles still had a cap hit of nearly $7 million this season. Pace ran a clown show. |

Let's not forget the 2018 Bears defense was once of the best from that decade.
First in points against (283), forced turnovers (36), interceptions (27), yards gained/pass (5.3), total rushing yards (1,280) and touchdowns allowed (5), and turnover percentage (19.5). They ranked third in total yards against (4,795). Nagy doesn't wear Trubisky but once that defense started falling off, they were never above .500. |

No.
He refused to play to Fields strengths, just as he did with Trubisky. |

I mean really, how do you just power through that? You really can't. Fields simply wasn't ready yet. He's a talented kid and maybe he can be developed into something interesting (a Kyler Murray sort) but he wasn't the answer to any question worth asking this season for a coach who likely needed to make the playoffs to keep his job. Fields was 2-8 as a starter to Dalton's 3-3 (and Foles went 1-0). The problem was, in many ways, Justin Fields. A team that went 4-3 w/ just a warm body at QB went 2-8 w/ Fields. With even slightly above average QB play, the Bears are probably a 9-10 win team. Nagy has taken a lot of bullets for the piss poor job that Ryan Pace has done there.
