So when do we fire Dumther Cunningham?

???

Still waiting for him to bring back that "dominant Chiefs defense" he promised, oh, what, four years ago?

Whose he going to blame this year, two years after acquiring every player on his "list of players" to turn the chiefs D around?

I'm beginning to think Gunther is the Carl Peterson of defensive coordinators.

This whole staff needs to be canned if Herm is coming back...

Well, he has no DT's, he's make chicken salad with chicken sh*t....

His corners belong in a retirement home and last time I looked it still is a top 10 defense.

The defense might be a little more motivated if they new when they stopped someone, there would be more than a 1.3487698734% chance the offense will put points on the board.

Or if we didn't run them out there 14 times a half after 13 three and outs.

I might buy that argument, except that teams with bad offenses have had good defenses before, despite the bad offenses. Hell, Baltimore even won a Super Bowl with one.

Now I'm not saying I expect a 2000 Baltimore defense. But I am saying what the hell is Dumther doing wasting energy defending the likes of Kendrell Bell instead of acquiring impact defensive players?

Hes been back here enough years to get players on defense, and he hasn't. In the meanwhile, he's taken the opportunity to blame everyone else for his shortcomings, from the players to DV...

Well we did pick up Donnie Edwards to replace Kendrell as a starter I believe. Everything aside, the defense is certainly the last thing we should be concerned about with this team. They gave up 41 to Denver today, but the offense gave them 0 help.

It starts with the GM, coaching, special teams, and and of course the offense.....

Granted we're still minus LJ, not that the Oline could get him a hole.

Baltimore had a good offensive line that year anchored with Ogdan and all time great LT. Chiefs have NOTHING that resembles that. 2000 Ravens offense>2007 Chiefs Offense. If we can even call it offense.

I agree, it is probably the only way to salvage the talent this team already has.

The rest should be traded for picks, we need to completely rebuild the team from scratch with absolutely no ties to any of the underperformances of the past. Complete new identity. We are talking 2 more years before we sniff the playoffs.

I am dreading the part where they have to "learn how to win." I think it will be at least two more years before they approach mediocrity again.

Honestly, if we had a head coach who was smarter than a box of rocks, I could have some faith.

Well, I just checked, and the defense has dropped out of "top 10" in both catagories now. 13th in points allowed and 15th in yards allowed. The offense is holding it's own at 30th and 31st.

The only thing I'll say in defense of our D is that they have been on the field for practically the entire season, so naturally they're beat up.

But don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of some shitcanning.

Yeah, but the smart move would be to start on the other side of the ball and special teams.

I was wondering about that, but I didn't know where to look for that information. That's a bit surprising, to say the least. I suppose that shoots that theory to shit.
