So I finally bought a cell/mobile phone...

Yeah, this is my first phone.

Ever.

HTC One M8.

Seems to be nice.

I turned it on after a week in the box and, lo and behold, it worked.

So, now what do I do with it?

What apps do I need?

What is Twitter?

And most importantly, what is the best music player for the Android system? Most of my music is in iTunes due to the previous use of their iPod. Is there a way to get that over into the phone and in a decent music player on my phone?

You're way behind the curve. You should start slow. Just make calls for a couple of years before you try anything else.

You should check out VCRs. You can record a show and watch it later.

I currently do not own a television. However, I do have a DVD player that I bought in 1999 sitting somewhere in a box in my basement.

its cool to hear new stuff mixed in with stuff you already have heard and to be able to constantly refine each station you make ..its fun
I did put the Pandora app on the phone and it's pretty cool.

I went with T-Mobile as my carrier as music streaming doesn't count against my 4GLTE data cache and they've teamed with Rhapsody to offer full service music streaming (no ads) for $4 a month (most of the other services are approximately $10 a month).

I think I'm going to go with Neutron as my music player. Seems like it's received a lot of accolades as it relates to overall sound quality.

Will my iTunes library transfer over to my Android phone or will I have to get an app to make that transfer?

According to contemporary comedians it is easier to find a unified theory than to program it to record. What in tarnation is this sorcery??

Depends on what you want, but your best FREE bet is to use Google Play Music and store them in Google's cloud so you can access them from any device in the future and don't use the space on your phone.

Won't someone take my music if it's in "the Cloud?"

That doesn't sound too secure.

Ha, no. It's secure. It's your own personal cloud account that Google gives you free.

But won't I have to have a data stream to access it?

And isn't there a downgrade to sound quality if it's being transferred from a CD to MP3 than upload to a "cloud" then downloaded from there to my phone?

I really bought this because my iPod took a crap and figured that I might as well get all the rest of the shit as well as a music player in the process.
