Leonard Fournette on the trading block..should Veach bite?
A few folks have mentioned this on another thread but I thought it deserved a thread of it's own as media sources, both national and Chiefs associated, have linked the Chiefs to Fournette HERE and HERE
Now, Fournette was obviously a first round pick with tons of hype and potential when he came out and there can be no denying he was sensational in his rookie season HERE where his 1000 yards rushing, 300 yards receiving and 10 TD's helped to guide the Jags to the playoffs where he again showed his class by getting four TD's and 242 yards in the games he played. The next season as we know Blake Bortals got exposed and the Jags were a mess. He missed half the season due to a ****ling leg injury but still managed to get 400 rushing yards, 185 receiving and six total TD's. Then came last year HERE and my lord he looked devastating. Yet again he got 1000 yards but this time he notched FIVE HUNDRED receiving yards as well. Way more receiving yards than Damian Williams had last year and more than what Kareem Hunt had in his rookie season. I think we could probably get him for a modest pick tbh because I think the Jags are gonna try to tank for Lawrence...so probably a 4th rounder for next years draft could do it? Who knows...but a 25 year old talent like this doesn't fall into your lap very often. He'd cost us 4m for this season and then we'd have that fifth year option too. IF he's sensational in those two years then we tag him for another. Three years of Fournette without having to pay major bucks sounds tempting to me as I think he would cause absolute mayhem facing those empty boxes. |

I wonder if D. Williams had won the coin flip for Super Bowl MVP if we would still be seeing these idiotic threads. Give it a rest people. We have one of the NFL’s best values at running back. We need to find him a backup not a replacement.

"Value" does not mean QUALITY dummy...the running game was poor last season...period. And anyone who doesn't want to improve that area of the offense is a naive fool imo.

Wow, you really are a stupid ****. If you believe bringing in a trash rb like Fournette behind that trash interior Ol, improves anything, then you really ought to watch who youre calling a naive fool. The trash interior ol, and the failed Lesean McCoy experiment had more of an impact on Damien making big plays than lack of talent on his part. Or maybe 11 playoff TDs including the ones to take the lead, and lock up the superbowl arent good enough consistent plays for you. Instead of posting this dumb shit, go play a game of hide and go **** yourself.

Youre right, I had forgotten about Fournette's amazing display of lighting up the scoreboard in the playoffs on the way to the Jaguars' Superbowl championship. Im sure Fournette's ring is shinier than Damien's will be too. Oh, wait... ****ing idiot.

D Williams is a very talented back when he's healthy. But the man has 1200 yards in his career. Let's not pretend it's nonsense to talk about bolstering our RB situation.

Didn't we pick up Washington for this role?

You can't count on guys that have bounced around the league and are available at Vet Minimum to make major contributions.
That said, there are exactly zero scenarios in which Leonard Fournette should be a Chief. None, zip, nada. |

Although with Reid and Mahomes, maybe Washington can break out. You never know.

He's 27 years old and was on the roster when Gruden and Mayock arrived. His numbers were pedestrian at best, which is why they took Josh Jacobs, a legitimate stud, in last year's draft.
If Washington has a breakout season, the Chiefs will likely allow him to walk and get a Comp Pick in 2021. Signings like these are Lottery Picks and aren't even guaranteed to make the roster. |

This isn't the back I want but the Chiefs finished in bottom of the NFL in rushing yards, lets not act like we're set.

Isn't that stat affected by our offenses' propensity to pass?
