Anyone here ever deliver for Door-Dash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc?

I've been needing some extra cash here lately, so I signed up for Doordash and Uber Eats. (I'm currently waitlisted on Grubhub)

Honestly, I love it. The people are friendly, the tips are good, and I enjoy driving anyway.

Anyone else ever done this as a side gig?

Those ****ing assholes are the reason I wish I could adjust my tip on Door Dash. It literally says in my instructions "Leave the food on the bench next to the door".

It must be, or maybe for people that don’t have a car.

Typical suburban street, nothing dangerous. Just seems kinda natural that they would make use of my driveway. If nothing else, it's a shorter walk in bad weather.

Tips are expected now and not earned. Tipping "culture" has gone reeruned.

They're expected because these delivery services don't pay their "employees" shit. I have no problem tipping the delivery driver when it comes to good service.

Most I’ve ever picked up at once is 2 orders. And I make sure the drop offs are pretty close together. Just gotta use some common sense as a driver to whether or not accepting the other orders makes sense and doesn’t delay. I have a 99% on time rate out of 344 life time deliveries and I pride myself on being quick.

Yeah I don’t understand the people who do this. I looked into it one time because I had a sign up offer with no fees and $20 off or something. Still way more expensive than driving to a restaurant and picking it up myself, even before a tip. I don’t understand how people can afford to use this service.

I seem to have bad luck with these types of services.

Had an Uber driver this week blow by my exit on the hwy then while getting off to turn around he fell asleep at the stoplight. Like snoring asleep. Not sure if he was drunk or had some type of sleep apnea. After his side sensors started going off for crossing over lanes I just had him drop me off.

I flagged him with Uber and they comped the trip and shut him down while they look into it.

I've had it happen at least twice now where a driver has picked up my order and then drove towards the opposite side of town to pick up food for another customer...and then completely out of the way again to drop off that food.

Spoiler alert - he’s driving for them again.

Not necessarily but my occupation forces me to be somewhat of one. I can get Door Dash gift cards for 20% off.
