Just curious... If the fan called Smart a racial slur, was he justified for shoving the fan.

I think its an interesting debate about where the line should be drawn for fans to get away with jawing at players. Let's first see if there's any truth to this. My personal opinion is that sports should have leeway for fan behavior, but there's a line that fans too often cross.

On the contrary, I think anybody who denies that there was solely on the basis of a statement made by the booster with a history of taunting players (and a vague "investigation" with no specifics from a completely biased party) probably has an agenda. Any PR professional would tell you that there is no benefit to Smart/Ford saying something like that during a public apology designed solely to protect/rebuild his public image.
