This may be a weird thing to say, but I have always caught the vibe from him that he seems like he would be a marketable athlete if he were to succeed. I know, I know....plays in Kansas City, no one cares about Kansas City, etc. However, the dude seems charasmatic and the fact that his brother was on that Bachelorette show...the media may eat that up a bit compared to QB's we've had in the past. People love that Bachelorette/Bachelor/mainstream reality TV show shit, and how "cute" would that be? Reality darling, Josh Murray's bro succeeding in the NFL!!! I can imagine a bunch of chicks thinking, "Aww, that's awesome!!! How cute! I wonder if his brother is as cute and nice as his Joshy?!?!" May be kind of an odd, feminine way to bring attention from general spectators to this team, but hey, it's better than our draft picks being neglected of extensive discussion when drafted on a routine basis...or our games, for that matter...

This is, of course, if he does well. I will go on the record and state: I think Aaron Murray could be a marketable athlete IF he does well.

I mean, hell...TMZ covered his breakup with his fiancée... And why did they cover this? Because he is the brother of reality darling, Josh Murray. Seriously:

http://m.tmz.com/#Article/2015/01/20...f-hot-reporter

Freaking TMZ...home base for the celeebabybrity-obsessed.

Sounds weird, but I think the kid can bring some juju/attention to the team if he steps up...and that is, of course compared to the attention KC receives now.
WTF? One of the stranger football takes I've seen.

True. Most guys who put up times like that are gnats.

He's got the size and speed you look for, but 39.6 average yards per game leaves a lot left to be desired.

He was on a run first team that spreads the ball around. Still was the teams leading WR two year in a row. He might not put up huge #'s, but Reid's #2 WR's rarely do. Went back and watched all of Murray's '13 games to see Conley and it's clear they see him as a younger faster Bowe. Which is exactly what we need.

I just can't find enough video of the guy actually running routes. They all focus on the QB and suddenly the ball's being thrown to him.

When I do see a route, it's usually a single cut and then he just relies on being really damn fast to find space.

It looks like he's pretty good at the deep hook route, but mostly because DBs have had to respect his deep speed; I'm not sure they'd have to give him as much respect at the next level as more DBs have catchup speed or good coverage safeties over the top. He'd probably be pretty handy in either the 1 or 2 spots on a smash route - you could have him handle the hitch and use his size to screen guys off/speed to pick up YAC or run him on the the corner and use his speed to pull away while the underneath hit draws coverage and singles him up. In either situation, the smash concept could help him find the room to work he'll need.

I'm not so sure he has quick enough feet for double moves and I do think he may need to be schemed into space more than just making it for himself off the snap.

Reid was able to make some space for people last year with pretty much nothing in terms of athleticism. He'll be able to find room for this guy to work as well. The attention that Maclin and Kelce draw will do wonders for Conley, IMO. Ultimately though, until I see more footwork from him, he's going to be a little limited in what he can do. I think I had it right a couple days ago - slower Mike Wallace with a better attitude.
