LNBS: You are Veach 2018

With the 2017 being a wrap after today even if they make the playoffs and beat a weak ass team round 1 only to get piss pounded by NE or Pitt so what? Where do you go from here?

First thing I do if in Veach:

I actually re-sign Logan who's played ok but gets double teamed alot.

I sign Donkey Kong Suh to play end and bring some attitude and toughness.

Don't resign Allen Bailey and trade Alex Smith for a third. Don't bring back DJ, Hali, Akeen Hunt or Ford.

Release Phillip Gaines and Terrance Mitchell.

Sign: Maurice Claiborne, Teddy Bridgwater to be the #2, Rex Burkhead as a legit #2/ 3rd down back draft Chris Jones in round 3, and sign Tim Jerigan.

Flame me.

Get a new DC that can successfully convert the defense to a 4-3. Let him pick his staff. Houston stays... DJ, Ford, Gaines & Hali are gone.

Alex traded. Mahomes starts. Find legit LT that can pass block.

Eh, if they have a shot at making an upgrade at LG in the draft I would do it.

Ehringer apparently has super aids, so he wouldn't be in my plans.

I have no idea why he's mentioning Suh. He's playing at an elite level and isn't a realistic cut for Miami till at least 2019.

You want my serious answer, it's create an identity. This team doesn't have one. They aren't good on offense and they aren't good on defense. You go all in this offseason on one side or the other and give this team hope to hang it's hat on.

You want to be a good offense? Go out and get a legit WR in the passing game, a bulldozer at LG, then sprinkle in a good slot option. Maybe put some emphasis on developmental lineman as well. Load up and give Mahomes no excuse not to set the world on fire day 1.

Else, you go out and get the best CB on the market and the best DL, then hit the draft up for another CB, a pass rusher or two, and just depth across the board. Draft another nickel style corner in case Nelson hits the tub again.

Get rid of the trash. Thank DJ and Tamba for their service. Send Gaines packing. Escord Smith to the first available flight out of town. Etc.....

This team is a rudderless ship stuck in the abyss.

He is dumb as a box of rocks and why Dallas gave up on him. Waaaaay overrated !!!! If this is the same Claiborne that was drafted by Dallas in the 1st rd from LSU.

I hope Veach prioritizes strengthening the defense and LG position. Also TE2.

If we can give Mahomes the defense we used to have, that will go a long ways

That’s a lot to ask of a team that doesn’t have a 1st rounder, thus very little draft capital.

2018 Free Agents don’t offer much of a solution, either.

The same Logan that is NT for the 29th ranked run defense in the league?

Not sure how much we get out of players with coaches that can't seem to coach guys up. Andy Heck and Britt Reid rate just slightly above 'Stank Ass'. Sutton can't scheme a decent blitz to save his nuts.

Start with a entirely new defensive coaching staff since we will never fire Andy Reid.

Hard to say. Ragland is starting to come around at ILB and they have building blocks in place defensively with Peters, Berry, Houston, and Jones. If they can just find some temporary upgrades at a couple of positions, it'd help. Cross your fingers that Veach finds some diamonds in the mid rounds.

The offense is already basically set and all under contract. LG is the only position that for sure needs addressed, but another WR and TE would be great.

Not suggesting they should, but I won't be surprised if KC keeps Ford for his $8M option in 2018. Cutting Smith, Hali, and DJ alone gets them to $32M in cap space. The FA class leaves much to be desired, so I doubt they use all that much money this offseason anyways. Getting to $40M+ by cutting Ford may not do a whole lot for them with that being the case.

I think that Reggie Ragland made the loss of the 1st round pick less painful. That was a steal by Veach and he's starting to really turn it on.

I think we've found one of our ILB's of the future and KPL has been decent as well.

Really excited to see what Veach does next year because if anything, we've seen the guy steal 2 good players in limited time.
