NCAA College Football 2006
I picked mine up last night. I am loving the "Race for the Heisman" feature, but I can't stop anybody on D.

What does everyone else think of the game? I was hoping the College game would have the vision passing so I could get a leg up on that for when Madden 06 comes out.

Desmond Howard on the cover?

Do you take control of your receivers when the ball is in the air? If you do, I guess it could just be a timing issue on when to catch the pass, but if you don't, that's probably your biggest problem.

The sliders themselves still aren't set well (if my RB ability was set at 50%, I could probably run for 4,000 yards), but at least they're responsive to change.

For touch passing practice, the passing shell mini-game is perfect. It actually tells you the quality of your throw.

I guess I never had that problem in 2005. I didn't pass all that much though, using Kansas State and all. I'd average around 200-225 YPG through the air.

As for Iowanians problem...if he is on Varsity, I don't see why he should have to modify the sliders at all really. Depending on the WR rating, he should be able to tear it up.

The problem was that they made the catching absolute. Much like this year, it's dependent on timing, touch, etc.

However, last year, the WR catch slider didn't do anything. You could move it to 100 or to 0 and guys will still drop tons of passes.

I'd just like to tell boardindonko that I can read computer defenses easier than the menu his mama sells her ass for down on Colfax.....what grosses me out, is that hooor has a "kids meal". Tell the cook that it was cold in the middle and had someone else's hair in it....send it back and we'd like to see the manager, you thimbledicked mangravy expert.

I do take control('06) and maybe it IS a timing thing.....but it just seems like I can have a guy beat by 3 steps, and the QB(Tate in this case) is either way underthrowing and getting picked off, or throwing a mile over their heads.

There doesn't seem to be much "in between"......Hell, even swing passes aren't a sure thing. I'm probably not as skilled as you guys, but I sure as hell know when the D is in a zone or cover 2-man...and I know when a WR is open...........and I know what I've been able to do with '04 and Madden. I'm no Bozo, but I'm not the PSII Pinball wizard either.

I'll try practicing in the shells a little more and fiddle with the sliders. Eventually, I'll take the time to try Po..Po....Parkers' slider recommendations.

Not true. Although I haven't played NCAA 2005 in awhile, I'm pretty sure that I had it setup to where it worked out pretty well and I was playing on Heisman. My receivers were catching balls. You just have to adjust the sliders.

Past tweaking the sliders, I don't know what the problem would be... sounds like the issue I had with '05.... any QB on any team would throw a 5 yard pass either 3 yards or 15... and if it got the receiver, he'd drop it.

Mine's pretty realistic... as long as I set and throw, it's fairly accurate... well, considering my QB sucks.

I fought the Catch Up Mode last night, and won... it was beautiful.

Once I stopped them a few times, the flood gates opened... fumble, TD... fumble, TD... another punt return, TD... punt, 80 yard run, TD....

66-10

Yeah, so I was at Kentucky... and while I've blown teams out, it's usually because the catch up mode and/or home field advantage never kicked in. Watching the CPU turn from the Wildcats into the Colts and then stuffing them at the goal line, and then again, and again, and again, is almost better than real football

Well, EA admitted there was a "miscalculation" that had to do with a "dropped passes bug" in last year's game.

Not having much of a problem thus far. I'm on Heisman mode, and haven't modified my sliders all that much. Haven't gone over %10 forward or back on any slider.

Alright. After dominating #13 ranked Iowa on Heisman mode, I'll give your sliders a whirl. my sliders weren't far off defaults at all. These are a bit more extreme. My next game is a HUGE one, @Texas who is ranked #4.
