honorary lifetime Chiefs

there's bound to be another similar thread, but wtf.

who are the players through the years that you would have as lifetime Chiefs? Not the players like Neil Smith who kinda are, but the guys who played elsewhere first, but really had their run in KC. for me, Priest, and Joe Phillips top the list...

They had a part in his success, but he had the work ethic that is not typically seen in modern sports. When Priest was at KC his style kind of rubbed off on LJ, but it seems like LJ has forgotten all about what it takes to succeed. He used to see the crack in the line and zip through it, now it seems like he waits for a hole a semi could drive through and that isn't happening in KC now days.

He led the league in rushing his first season (2001) when the team was horrible, they didn't know how to use him, and the line was not yet the dominate force it ended up being. Willie Roaf didn't get to KC until 2002 BTW.

I'm pretty sure he's in the HoF as a Chief....

And he hates Al Davis ( http://www.nytimes.com/1992/12/15/sp...-at-davis.html ). I'd say that fits as a "life-long Chief."

But yes, Bennie was a GOD amongst NFL hitmen on kickoffs and punt coverage.....and regrettably had a tendency for peeing on what had been deemed his territory.

I agree--he qualifies--& that's the only thing I hold against Marty (but that's major right there)

OK,

I'll nominate Willie Lanier because I had lunch with him many years ago in Richmond, VA where #63 was working as a stock broker at the time (perhaps still?). Anyway, besides being one of my favorite Chiefs of all time, Willie was great to talk with, get his opinions of the league and share some common ground as it relates to family and problems which I won't go into.

I do recall Willie speaking fondly of the Chief's LB trio at that time of he, Bell, and 'the kid from Notre Dame'. Good stuff.

He didn't go into the Hall as a Chief.

Players that played fro more than one team are enshrined, with their career accomplishments for every team they played for noted.

He made his name and had his run, his best years, and the largest portion of his career numbers as a Raider.

I might add Jason Dunn to that list, he was a very valuable run blocker for us
