Anyone enjoy Black Friday nonsense?

Sears has announced they will be open on Thanksgiving Day for th first time in history...

Toys R Us has announced they are opening for Doorbusters at 10:00PM on Thanksgiving day....

Where does this nonsense end??? Do people not have anything better to do in their lives but go shopping anymore??

I guess im a traditionalist and feel everything should be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their employees deserve the break.

It's the erasure of any and all accomplishments modern society has been able to achieve over the last 200 years.

Black friday is greed, violence, and super angry bulbous women of lower income jostling for cheap $#it that might work for 15 months.

At best.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Do you really save that much?

Heres a question for anyone....does shopping on Black Friday just encourage people to buy more stuff they dont need...or do you truly save money on your "Christmas List" items?

Speaking of shopping....

I don't really think this deserves it's own thread, but last night I stopped by the local mall to pick up a watch battery, and afterward the wife and decided to wander around a bit to walk off dinner. On the second level in an area of the mall we rarely go to is an Abercrombie & Fitch store. I was still a good 20 yards away from it when the smell hit. Seriously, what is that ****ing cologne/perfume stench? I noticed the same noxious odor at another Abercrombie store in a different mall a few months ago. Good God, it's horrible. Obviously, since I'm not a 13-year-old girl who wants to look like a 20-year-old prostitute, I don't shop there, but how on earth could anybody find that smell appealing? If I worked somewhere near that store and had to smell that every day I think I'd firebomb the place. Yuck.

It seems so ironic that a store with a name that sounds like a stodgy English law firm sells that kind of clothing and smells like a French whorehouse.

Back when I was in Jr. High the local Dillards REEKED of Drakkar.

They sprayed it on the clothes, socks, and even the ****ing hats and ties.

It was vulgar...

It's funny you should mention Drakkar. I had an old bottle of that crap fall out of my medicine cabinet once. It cracked the top of the bottle and I didn't realize it for a couple of months. At that point I made the mistake of pouring it down the drain. The alcohol had evaporated, and what hit my sink was the oily base that made my bathroom stink for several days. That's exactly what the Abercromie smell reminded me of.

My fiancee' and I went last year. It's so freaking nuts, but you get a lot of good deals and you get to knock out a lot of your family's gifts that day.
