New England is almost always at the end of the first round dealing with teams that want to move up from the 2nd. Easy to do considering they don't expect players to come in and start for them near the tail end of the first round.

To move down you have to have a player that other teams covet at your spot while not moving down to where the player your team covets would be picked. I hear people yelling trade down all the time.

Yeah, Lilja was great last year. A young DeCastro definitely would not be an upgrade.

I agree.

I could give two shits about positional value.

BPA all the way.

Positional value can suck it.

Missed the point entirely...

Wiegmann and Lilja weren't great but Wiegmann, is hopefully retiring and Hudson is taking over. Now you've got Richardson over there at RT who couldn't block for a high school team. So you are looking at replacing Lilja, who has 1 year left, or Richardson, who's a FA, and you have seemingly equal value at both positions likely on the board and you choose to replace Lilja...

I'm not wanting to draft Trent Richardson in the first but I'd take him all day over DeCastro.

He's a dick, alcoholic, and loose cannon, during one season off memory he had a seizure because he took too much Ecstasy at a night club.

I know some aren't big on Richardson and I'm not really high on him myself, but I ask myself, when discussing a potential draft pick, which one brings more to your team?

I think Richardson brings more to the Chiefs than DeCastro.

Think about it this way, if a rb with Richardson skills hits free agency ala Ray Rice or Matt Fotrte and a guard of Decastro's skill set, which one would teams rather pay big money for?

If we can make a move to improve the team, make it, whether its for now or one year from now. I think the biggest team need we can draft for as a starter is at RT but the option at #12 is to draft a LT and move them over to right which from what we saw with Gaither isn't always a good move. The top RT is somewhere in the neighborhood of a round 2-3 pick. I think another pick here, though it would be a bit of a reach at #12 is Don'ta Hightower but that I would only do if not resigning Belcher.

Gaither didn't play. That's either because of Haley or Gaither truly did refuse to play RT.

Just to name a few college LT's that were recently drafted and play RT now... Bulaga, Oher, Solder. All I can think of off the top of my head.

Many RTs in the league were tried at LT and failed and moved to LT. You draft high to get an LT and when that doesn't work, move them to the right side. Many were saying we should do that with Albert.

Most reports I saw on Gaither as to why he didn't beat out Richardson was that he couldn't make the transition. You can't assume they will always be able to make that transition.

I would say top 5 guards get more than top 5 RBs if I had to guess.

I'm not sure those reports about not being able to make the transition are accurate. He played half of his college snaps at RT.

We have a good LT and shit at QB. Drafting to replace a good player trying to cover up the shit is dumb.

The fantasy of drafting a "franchise" LT around here is reeruned.

Has anyone interested last week or even month suggested this?

The OT picks you see in the first round are taken to play RT. This last season buys Albert time to continue to grow at LT. Even with the fans.
