When do you give up as a fan?
This is not a thread about not being a Chiefs fan, just a thread wondering about those who don't spend as much time being a fan.

I know this subject has been covered ad nauseum, but lets take a different look at it. The Chiefs suck, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Buckeyes are on a bowl ban, they are way overrated at #12, and watching them on Saturday made me sad. I realized that this team has a long way to go before I consider them good. I have become some apathetic towards the Chiefs and the Buckeyes that a lot of times I just don't care. I only watched 2Chiefs games last year. The Buckeyes I watched all their games, but never with great expecations.

When do you reach a point where you realize that your time is better off doing something productive? Have you as a fan reached that point? Are you a fan who will never do that? I admit that I will not go out of my way to go to Damon's and pay for lunch so I can watch the Chiefs this year. I remember the days of Trent Green and Priest Holmes, I was actually excited to watch the Chiefs, but I digress. I will keep watching the Buckeyes, but man does it suck to have teams you know aren't going to do anything this year.

I feel for you.. Pretty much since the 2nd preseason game we've griefed ourselves over how shitty our team is. If there aren't homers making homer comments you can't succeed at trolling.

I had watched every game since 93 but towards the end of last season I made up my mind that I was not watching Matt Cassell take another snap for this team. The fact that he can enter a 4th season as the starter just blows my mind. I didn't see any of the game yesterday, not even highlights and I'm probably in a much better mood because of it.

Between the Herm era, and this place, my fandom is much healthier now.

Wrongly, I used to let how the Chiefs performed on Sunday, affect my whole week. That second half yesterday, didn't even ruin my afternoon, let alone the whole day. I didn't even watch the second half of he 4th quarter, I went out to wash the truck.

My wife said, well at least they played good for a half, and I said, they sure did.

Moved on to watching a good game, and laughed my butt off while enjoying it.

Arrowhead looked packed, so why would they change anything?

You know, I think I enjoyed being a fan more before the internet. If the Chiefs won, it was great. If not, I was disappointed but shook it off pretty quickly. I wanted my team to win a Super Bowl but didn't wrap my identity up in the team or anything like that so I didn't get super pissed when they didn't get there.

Now, win or lose, every single move or play is analyzed and criticized. The internet has made football Serious Business and it's easy to get really wrapped up in it.

I guess what I'm saying is that ignorance was bliss.

I'm not nearly as fanatical as I was even 2 years ago. I've always been a Chiefs fan & can't see that ever changing. I'll either stop watching football or die before I would ever cheer for another team, but I hate the fact that i've become so numb to losing
