When do you give up as a fan?

This is not a thread about not being a Chiefs fan, just a thread wondering about those who don't spend as much time being a fan.

I know this subject has been covered ad nauseum, but lets take a different look at it. The Chiefs suck, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Buckeyes are on a bowl ban, they are way overrated at #12, and watching them on Saturday made me sad. I realized that this team has a long way to go before I consider them good. I have become some apathetic towards the Chiefs and the Buckeyes that a lot of times I just don't care. I only watched 2Chiefs games last year. The Buckeyes I watched all their games, but never with great expecations.

When do you reach a point where you realize that your time is better off doing something productive? Have you as a fan reached that point? Are you a fan who will never do that? I admit that I will not go out of my way to go to Damon's and pay for lunch so I can watch the Chiefs this year. I remember the days of Trent Green and Priest Holmes, I was actually excited to watch the Chiefs, but I digress. I will keep watching the Buckeyes, but man does it suck to have teams you know aren't going to do anything this year.

Well it's only the preseason, well its only the first game, well everyone else looked bad. It's just the same old drum being beat. At the end of the day the Chiefs suck and will continue to suck until we have a QB and a competent head coach and GM. Other than that we are right on schedule!!!
Those aren't kool-aid drinkers. Those are posters that simply want to tell everyone else on the internet how wrong they are. We could have won the first game and the same people would argue anything you were to say positive.

If we beat either the Raiders, Chargers, or the Broncos at least once a season I'm happy. The Season when this doesn't happen is when I'll give up.

Gave up Week 3 last year.

Been having fun since.

I put 25 percent of my attention on the Chiefs on Sundays. Rest on the rest of the league.

We all settle in at the bar every Sunday and watch at least the first half of the Chiefs before moving on to the competitive teams that tend to play later in the day. The NFL is still exciting if you live in a city that has real teams. I don't root for any of them but it's great to be in a hub of professional sports excitement. I don't know how people do it living in KC. The ownerships of both teams just don't really seem to care.

Just look at the stands yesterday. Why would you think you're doing well when you can't sell out opening day?
