Ok guys, had a conversation with my wife this morning that got my blood boiling. I think I need some blood pressure meds right now. Anyhow, so last Friday night, my 9 yo daughter was invited to a sleep over with some friends from her dance studio. They are all about the same age. The mother hosting the event is fairly involved in the dance studio functions. During the sleepover, the mover had a couple of girl friends over and they had some drinks and did jello shots. I know this because the dumbass posted it on facebook. Here's the bad part. They offered a jello shot to the girls. My daughter says MOST of them, including her didn't want one, but I'm just finding out about this incident this morning, and I'm ****ing livid. I went on her facebook, but decided I didn't want to piss my wife off and make my life hell, so I didn't try to "friend" her or message her in any way. My wife insists that she is going to talk to the dance studio about it, but is asking for me to not get involved. This is the type of behavior that turns little girls into pole dancing sluts. Make sure all the other parents are made aware. Try to get them together and decide on a course of action. I.E. getting statements and going to the police, letting your wife handle it etc. My personal opinion would be to talk to my wife and TELL her that you are going to the police and that you are trying to protect your daughter. Someone stated earlier that you should reassure your daughter that she made the right choice and that by reporting this to the police is also the right thing to do. No one knows how just one jello shot might affect a young person. Maybe they will hate the taste and swear off liquor forever, maybe they will want more and it lead to other troubles. You will have to change dance schools and run the risk of your daughter losing some friends. Bottom line is, what happened is illegal and someone should be held accountable.

1. Handling things when you "pretty pissed off" typically is not a good choice. You're a man. Shouldn't you do the logical thing?

2. When handling things like this with a woman, I'd let the woman of the house handle it. You're a "pretty pissed off" father, but she's a fellow mother. I'm sure you and your wife both have what's best for your little girl in mind. I'd let her handle it this time.

I whole-heartedly agree with KC Lee (what you did was wrong, don't let it happen again, and if it does the cops will be called).

If your wife said she was going to handle it, let her. Just ask to be updated and find out how the conversation went. If it happens again, you go knock on their door and do your thing.

9?!? JFC. I would be unbelievably pissed. I would let the wife handle it. However, if it were my wife, I'd be gathering funds to pay a lawyer. Because there's no doubt that there would be an assault and probably a murder involved...

And for the record I've never met a dancer or dance instructor that wasn't mostly crazy.

Not normally, no. That guy came at me and assaulted me. I'm wasn't going to just stand there. This is obviously different. I'm going to let me wife handle it for now and ask for an update tonight. It needs to be handled right now though. I would like to discuss this with the mother that did this however at some point. I think she should hear a fathers view of this. When I say I'm pretty pissed off, I would think anyone would be, so I don't think that is out of the ordinary. My wife is pissed at herself for letting my daughter go over there, knowing this gal is a flake. I told her that you cant always predict the stupid shit that some human beings are possible of doing.

Just between us, if I knew nobody was watching, I'd shove about 50 jello shots up her ass. No, wait, she might enjoy that. I'd give her a jelly donut.

BTW, not being a parent, I asked a co-worker what she would do in this situation. Basically said this, nearly word for word. She added "tell her what I think of her" to the first point.

She also brought up talking to the mother to make sure that there wasn't more to the story (i.e. the point that maybe there were some jello shots made without alcohol that they would playfully offer to the girls).

Also, she said that she would not go to the police or other parents. She would handle based solely on her own daughter. Had they been drinking Jack or something and trying to get the girls to drink it, then she said it would be a whole other story.
