Too many freaking deer

We're on the road tonight, heading into Indianapolis doing about 75. All of the sudden my headlights illuminate a freaking deer standing on the interstate. No time to brake, I just swerved HARD into to the other lane (I knew it was clear). Tires skid and for half an instant, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to control the vehicle.

I have to say everything went perfectly. If I had to do that 100 times, I'm pretty sure I'd plow the deer or lose control a few times.

It looked huge, but no one saw if it was a buck or a doe. I only got a good look about half way up its back haunches.

Drove for the next 40 miles barely daring to blink, and flashing my brights a couple times a minute.

Saw another deer laying on the side of road, basically cut in half.

Seems like we need to have an extended deer season to thin the herd a bit, before they thin us.
