The worst part of this is that the cop will probably face some sort of discipline so that the Police Department can save face.
I think we hold police officers to a standard higher than most of us could achieve. The reality is that they are human, and deal with crap day in and day out. She clearly assaulted the police officer. I don't understand why anyone is upset that she got punched in the face.
