Stupid question here, but I really don't know. The article says the age of consent in New York is 17. Does that mean a 17 year-old can boink whoever she wants? i don't know either ... i always thought that under 18 and over 21 was illegal somehow too.

under 17 - statutory rape
under 18 with over 21 - indecency with a minor or something
