Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

QBs all over get lucky every week with some near-INTs.

In other words... you are trying way too hard to go against your own offense.
The one from Bowe I thought Bowe could have put up more of a fight But I also thought it wasn't thrown as well as it needed to be.

The 2nd one against the Giants nothing you can do when the ball bounces like that but tip your cap. Lucky bounce and the Giants guy made a play tip of the cap

The 3rd one was the worst. It reminded me of Cassel. The rain thing did happen so I guess you should take that into thought but Man that was a bad throw.

Alex's play in the NFCCG certainly left a lot to be desired.

You're missing the point though. Which is that the Chiefs aren't necessarily going to implode during the regular season or go one and done in the playoffs.

One difference though: Alex is passing more and putting up more yards per game than he did in 2011.
They sure did. What happened when they got there? How did that formula work out on offense?

Yeah, the fumbles cost them. YOu know what else cost them? Alex Smith playing like hot garbage and being unable to "flip the switch" and move that offense when he needed to break the tie and win the game.

And the Giants with uber-elite Eli were 3-15. It's called a defensive battle.

Hey, I agree, his play was luke warm at best in the NFCCG. Still, he did not implode during the regular season, and he produced against the Saints, in heroic style, when we needed it. I am just saying that his current level of play doesn't mean you miss the playoffs or go one and done.

You might also consider that Alex's YPG was 196 in 2011. He is at 268 average over the last three games. I would expect, and you are getting, better play than the Niners got in 2011.

the issue here is that what the niners defense held the giants offense to has absolutely nothing to do with how alex smith and the niners offense played in that game

Guess you are new. That is NEVER left out. That horse has been beaten to death, sent to the glue factory, the glue shaped into another horse, beaten again, then that poor horse came back reincarnated as a roach, that was then promptly stomped on.

No, that horse has definitely been beaten.......

Yeah. Hard to flip a switch without 2 of your top three wide outs.

Was even harder for Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Tom Brady, who all played in better weather, with better supporting casts. Yet, they all lost too.

yet, alex smith, who everyone knows isn't of the caliber player that those three are, love to make this about Alex Smith.

Makes sense.......

You would beat andy and Dorsey?

I don't know if I would go that far. I think what they thought was that Geno would be a first round pick. I don't think if they knew they could of had geno in the second at 34, that they would of traded for Alex Smith.

and if you look at it objectively, you would understand that Geno wasn't even the JETS FIRST........OR SECOND option. They went Milliner, Richardson, before even thinking of Geno. So he wasn't high to a lot of people. Including THE JETS.

I as a chiefs fan. Am not complaining about 5 wins a season after only winning two.

I think that given there were reports of a mystery team having a deal in place for Smith before the combine even started, that they didn't give the thought of drafting a QB any serious thought. I think they went in knowing that Alex was their guy, and that Fisher or Joeckel was gonna be the pick. Happy as hell to be 5-0 don't get me wrong, but jesus christ, enough with the shitty retread QB's who always fail to meet expectations and get bounced off the team after the "win now" shit fails yet again.

Andy Reid wanted Alex Smith he made no bones about it. He tried to go after him when he was in Philly. So no there was no thought in drafting a QB. It was ranked one of the weakest QB classes in YEARS not where you would want to get your QB with. I know you rank Geno high but the people who have the job to rank guys said otherwise. Time will tell who was right

About this retread thing. The facts once again get in the way. Trent Green was the last good QB we had you would have ran him out. We drafted Brodie how did that turn out? This we need to draft a QB talk is just that talk. How many bust do you people have to see before you get this idea that if we just draft a Qb everything will be great. For crying out loud a Qb won a superbowl after bagging groceries. I'm sure Rams fans are upset they got a "retread" So are Cards fans after he took them to the superbowl as well
