Its pretty simple.

A 3rd round pick is TRADEABLE. A comp pick IS NOT.

Nevermind the fact that the Dolphins have the 81st pick in the 3rd, 15 picks before the comp picks even start rolling out. But we wont even get the pick til next year.

Oh, God. Probably a 5% chance we would have traded it.
We also got another year of pro-bowl production at LT.
Fisher may have gotten Smith killed last season.

That 1 year of production was worth what?

A 1st round exit in the playoffs?

How could we have ever lived without that!!!!!

It's much better that we get a 2015 comp pick out of the deal!!!!!

But I am glad he's had two off-seasons, and more strength training before he gets the chance.

Despite what people here say....

Fisher improved into an average right tackle by year end
Fisher was raw and inexperienced, and we knew the first year would be a learning curve
Fisher was raw AND had a short offseason due to new cba rules
Fisher is better suited for the left where footwork is more important than strength, and where he has more instinctual technique
Fisher was undersized and can easily grow into a left tackle frame. I'd expect a poe like improvement in conditoning

Lots of reasons to be concerned, but those things above are reasons to be optimistic that he will at least be average.

I am responding to the people who are calling him a bench player and don't acknowledge that he did improve last year, and wasn't as terrible as people say.

I didn't like the pick. I never will. But let's not exaggerate to prove a point. He has plenty of upside to be better than Albert. And there were plenty of things working against him last year.

so more of the same Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Eric Fisher. Chiefs pick in the top 10 four ****ing times in the last 10 years and land 1 impact player that isn't a JAG but turn him into an in the box LBer anyway.

so what

not being tradeable doesn't make a draft pick worthless

15 picks lower reduces value but having Albert for another year to help our young Oline was valuable too.
