According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

For the idiots talking about a less warm room.

The ideal gas law is PV=nRT, where T is measured in Kelvin.

Assume that one room is 18 degrees Fahrenheit colder than the other. That is 10 K. The difference in pressures, assuming SRT would be 298K for the warm room vs 288K for the cold room, a difference of less than four percent.

Four percent of 13.5 PSI is 12.96 PSI, less than a quarter of the difference they are talking about.

So, unless they filled the Colts' balls in an industrial freezer, good luck with that harebrained theory.

Now with Jackson denouncing any suggestion that he was the source I really am confused about what happened and why.

Never heard of an NFL sting operation before. I can't fathom why the Vikes and panthers and Rodgers ball issues get ignored but then the NFL would want to try and trap the Patriots. That doesn't seem to make any sense. But if there were complaints and they wanted the Pats to stop, why not tell them to stop? Why give them a"free" half of football with questionable balls, which creates a mountain of controversy? That doesn't seem to jibe.

Basically I am waiting to see what the NFL has to say.
