As of today, it appears to the be latter.

If he seriously re-damaged that knee, it most likely happened on the play where he dug in hard on it to carry multiple faders on that play off the right side in the redzone

I clearly remember thinking to myself... "OMG, he chose this play to truly test that knee because he's torquing the hell out of it right now", it might just be that he aggravated something right there

Either way, the apparent plan to rest him until it feels good again is the right one... if he is only here for 2016, lets make sure he is able to go out swinging
