Maybe it's a bit of naiveté on the Chiefs part but if the police said there was no crime, the prosecuting attorney said there was no crime, the victim said there was no crime, and Kareem Hunt himself said there was no crime, why would they continue to believe there was?

Because of the world we live in these days. He has to look no further than the Elliot situation last year.

Because they have too much to lose.
