One of the biggest knocks about Lamar and the old Chiefs if that they would hang onto their favorites at whatever cost. This regime has dumped loveable guys who were no longer performing at the highest level. Got to respect it at the end of the day this game is all about rings.

Justin Houston there are folks here who still want him back when he was as polarizing as Berry in his final years here.

But on a day like today, it's hard to argue with what he's done so far, regardless of whether it turns out to be better than what we had.

He basically said that he's going to strike out swinging for the fences because he thinks he can hit a home run every time, rather than just stand there and watch the ball go by.

I would contend that the Frank Clark move is not a question mark.

Frank was brought here to help KC get to and win a Superbowl.

At the time, Chiefs fans wouldnt care if frank cost 200 million if you were told, listen, we make this deal you will see KC win a superbowl.

Franks playoff run was about as good as you can ask for, closing out every post season game with sacks after talking mad shit leading up to, and during those games.

We won the Superbowl.

Now we are afflicted by greed, and now the one title we saw isnt enough, now we want all the titles for the next 15 years.

Frank didnt live up to the contract last season and we still only lost 2 games that counted. But to me, it doesnt matter. Frank was part of a massive culture change that led to a superbowl win.

I cant call that a question mark move by Veach.

I don't care if we overpaid and now he's hurting the cap. We won the Super Bowl. Clark was an essential part of why we won the Super Bowl. It was a good deal because we won the Super Bowl. I waited 50 years. Frank Clark will be forever a part of that pretty pretty good memory.

This. 50 years for me too. Frank showed up when it was necessary to help exorcise the demons. Magical season.

I’m kind of indifferent on the Clark trade as of right now.

With the picks and cap space dedicated to Clark, we very likely could get more than he provides.

That said, the man has 8 postseason sacks and 11 QB hits in 6 postseason games with us. If he’s providing that when it matters AND we’re making it to the Super Bowl, then I have a hard time being too mad about it.

Now that we’ve paid Mahomes, I’m very much against trading first round picks and giving big contracts to guys like Clark. That’s just too much investment in one player.

This. There was no guarantee Fisher or Mitch would be back to their pre-injury selves and even then, we'd have to pay a rental T for part of the season while Fisher got up to speed. While I hate to see it end for them like this, it's a business and the business is keeping PMII alive. Reiter was going to want a Brink's truck worth of cash for his services and we just didn't have it.

Pretty sure we easily could've paid Reiter, but...

A) He isn't nearly worth what he'll get in free agency

B) It looks like Veach has had more than enough of "good enough"

Agreed.

Doesn’t go with the status quo even when this team is a final 2 or final 4 finisher.

So often great teams fizzle out and it’s because they don’t cut their losses soon enough. He just keeps churning along. Bring in new blood that hasn’t experienced winning quite like this perhaps and is hungry to get us back again to that SB.
