Star Lotuleilei is about to get Trey Smith'd.

Imma take a shot for every time Trey Smith puts Lotuleilei on his ass. Hopefully i don't pass out by halftime.

Will be hard to get stops if Jones, Clark, and Gay don't play (and most of the snaps at that).

We can rag all day on Sorensen or Niemann, but these guys don't make the big bucks. This defense can't succeed if the only good players are inactive. JAGs won't stop anyone.

Pittsburgh: Worse OL, bottom 15 QB, QB completely immobile
Miami: Worse OL, 1/3 of Tua-bottom 15 QB, some mobility; 2/3 of Brissett, 35-45 QB, some mobility
Washington: Worse OL, bottom 10 QB, QB fairly mobile
Houston: Worse OL, 45+ backup QB (3rd string rookie), QB not mobile

So the Chiefs present the combination of the most mobile QB Buffalo has faced along with the best OL the Bills have faced, especially on the inside.

It's hard to see their changes making a huge impact. Yes, Star Lotuleilei is a good run defender, but is he more of an upgrade from what was there last year than the group of Thuney-Humphrey-Smith upgrades from Allegretti-Reiter-Wylie? Doubtful.

And yeah, Epenesa has popped a little more and Rousseau and Basham are promising prospects, but none of them is setting the world on fire and none have the pure speed to really give Niang or Brown problems. They're all mostly power guys... which Brown and Niang match up well against.

I just don't think it's there yet for Buffalo.

Only question is if the Chiefs' D can get enough stops to keep it from being a last possession shootout, IMO.

Hopefully, this game looks more like the San Diego game (where the Chiefs got some early stops). Getting Ward/Fenton back healthy would help with that, I think.

Buffalo will also, I assume, be primarily in 11 sets without a lot of personnel changes. That should let the Chiefs stick to nickel/dime (whatever they like better as the matchup there - I suspect it may be the dime set unless they see Gay playing a lot of snaps) and help with communication.
What Buffalo has is a lot of good, good enough players on DL and that allows them to be fresh all game, so that's not nothing.

But none of them are elite and all can be handled as easily as last year due to our OL upgrades. Hughes is their best prototype edge-rusher but he's getting older and I think the plan will be just keep him to the outside.

Rousseau is a nice player, I liked him at the end of the 1st but he's a rookie just getting in there.

SF in the SB had the best pass rushing d-line I've ever seen.

They had 4 guys (Buckner, Armstead, Bosa, Ford) capable of putting up double digit sack seasons and we still dropped 31 on them.

Buffalo is going to have to get creative with pressure if they want to contain KC.

Josh Allen’s completion % is ranked 27th in the NFL… he’s still an inaccurate QB.

Other than in the Washington game for them (and everyone is lighting up the Redskins defense this year), he’s looked far from “MVP caliber” this season.

He hasn't played well this year but he still by far our best DL player. This sucks.

And the Bills' average starting field position on their scoring drives was WFT's 45.

8 plays, 75 yards
8 plays, 52 yards
3 plays, 17 yards
7 plays, 55 yards (FG)
17 plays, 93 yards
4 plays, 6 yards (FG)
3 plays, 22 yards

Two good drives and several gifts.... compare that to the Chiefs going 70+ yards on practically every TD drive as they're almost always getting the ball after a kickoff and not a punt or turnover, and you can see how playing shit QBs every week helps your offense score 40+ (while the Chiefs still average the same PPG on the season), and how Bills fans citing final scores doesn't really cut it when talking about the more effective offense.

With or without Jones, we are probably looking at needing to blitz to get pressure and needing to score a lot of points to win.

If that thing isn't feeling good, I'd rest him. He has to be available come playoffs.

Epenesa doesn't look massively athletic but his production looks near elite so far this year. But as with all other observations on the Bills, it's been against terrible teams. They have a v good DL it looks to me but we'll see.

Huh? He doesn’t even have a sack. How is that elite?

Noooo!!

Turnovers come (usually) from shitty play/decisions.

CEH is a fumbling machine and then against the Chargers, Mahomes threw a pass so far behind the dude that he had to contort his whole body to catch it and it was tipped in the air for an INT.

Goodness gracious, people. Take a breath of reality. Turnovers are not something you can say “well if it didn’t happen”, like it’s rain or something out of the teams control.

The lack of punts is because of the running game.

We just don't get in long yardage situations anymore, and it's beautiful.
