I nominate UNBOUND (www.unbound.org) as the receiving charity. It's a highly-rated, award-winning organization based here in Kansas City which applies at least 91 cents of every donated dollar to actual program services. They provide direct assistance to impoverished families in more than 16 3rd World countries to help them break the chain of living in poverty. They do this by offering college scholarships to deserving students, supporting parents' groups and co-ops so that budding entreprenuers can receive financial assistance to establish their own business to become self-sufficient, and providing needed support to the elderly (UNBOUND is the only organization of its type to offer sponsorships of the elderly). It constantly receives high ratings and awards from charity watchdog groups, and is on Consumer Reports magazine's Top Ten List of Charitable Organizations.
