Are we still doing this? The Lions hired a coach that allegedly committed rape and never had to defend themselves over it.

Again, it is not hard to see why he wouldn’t choose to go with a Reid guy after Nagy failed. And he clearly wanted to go defense. There is nothing clear about why he didn’t choose to interview him and tons of very good reasons besides coaching qualifications for why he chose not to. It’s not the indictment on EBs qualifications as you think it is. Hiring eb would have been a huge career risk specifically because it was the bears. And even if the bears gave him authority over the coaching decision it’s very hard to believe he would have been hired if he preached that they were going to do more of the same.

There are plenty of good questions about EBs credentials. This one is way overblown.

Ryan Poles hired who he thought was the best man for the job, like any GM with the power to make the choice would do, if for no other reason than self preservation.

Of course there are many possible reasons that guy wasn’t EB, I’m just saying the color of his skin clearly wasn’t one of them.

Ok thanks, and since he has to go ahead and be the one to tell Flores that Daboll already has the job, no reason to lie at that point about believing he was texting Daboll.

He just doubled down on his mistake and added gross face-saving dishonesty to having received inside information and not informing the league or his supposed friend Flores that Flores was getting a sham interview.

He was acquired.

Binemy on top of the rape thing has an assault charge, duis, bullying/harassment of an injured player (which got Mangino, Leach and Leavitt fired btw), and reportedly did something similar at UCLA.

So yes we are still doing this. The guy clearly has a past and using him as some litmus test for racism is bullshit especially when we don't even know what his specific role is as the OC since Andy calla the plays.

Just reading the first few pages, not getting why so many are claiming there isn't a clear race angle to the allegation? Educate me. He's claiming two interviews being used to satisfy compliance with a diverse hiring policy were sham interviews, which by definition would violate the race-based policy.

I am pretty sure Dolphins fans would have gladly forgone a "long term" rebuilding plan to get Tom Brady if it resulted in a short term Super Bowl win.

Both teams had already satisfied the Rooney rule. Had honed in on their guys. The racism part of this is bs and dumb and most likely used to create a bigger buzz since racism has been popular these days.

On the evening of March 15, 1996, the woman told police that two men burst into the upscale hotel room where she was sleeping and took turns violently sexually assaulting her, according to court records and a news account at the time. They were arrested, charged and later indicted by a grand jury on one count of aggravated sexual assault

Pretty grizzly shit that Patricia was accused-and arrested for. Seems like the girl in question faced too much stress from a court case. Possibly scared for retaliation. From the cop who was on the case:

“It would have never gotten to that level if it was a weak case,” said Robert Rodriguez, a South Padre Island Police lieutenant at the time of the alleged sexual assault.

Patricia sounds like a monster and he still got a job.
