Culley was a bridge coach. They should have kept it but the Texans are run by nincompoops.

Flores got into a power struggle over Tua with the GM. The owner went with Tua. I disagree with the decision but if the relationship was as bad as reports say you can't keep both Flores and Tua. The Dolphins went with the QB.

Again this was in the 90’s? Do we hold something like this against someone for life?

You realize that the Jags chose Urban Meyer over Bieniemy and at OSU he did not report abuse from his staff when he knew it and was found guilty in an investigation? You realize that was only 3 years before he was hired right?

Hires like Urban Meyer are why this lawsuit was made. He should have never gotten that job over EB. He’s nowhere near the candidate EB was

Of course it should be.

There's one black HC right now, while guys like Joe Judge, Matt Ruhle, Dan Campbell keep getting hired with little/no experience.

Or someone like Kliff Kingsbury who gets hired immediately after being fired with no NFL experience.

Or why teams keep hiring dipshits like Urban Meyer and Harbaugh.

Or why retreads like McDaniels keep getting jobs despite failing.

Or why guys like Staley and Sirianni keep getting hired despite very short stints as coordinators.

Yep, I think most teams prior to the interviews ever happening know the 1 or 2 guys they are targeting to hire. If one of them is not a minority, there is going to be a shame interview. Any competent organization does their homework and has an idea what every assistant or former coach in the league brings to the table.

Can black coaches not win at the college level? What the difference?

There is a difference somewhere, but I’m trying to understand why this is just a NFL issue.

That’s not a reach. It’s a pretty logical conclusion to come to.

And again, it doesn’t matter what the fans think. If Poles truly felt EB gave him the best chance to win, he would’ve given himself the best chance to win.

Not hiring the best man for the job because of how fans would react is REALLY setting yourself up for failure.
It’s not hard to figure out why a guy interviewing for a job wouldn’t include his own tree guys as his coaching list and why he’d be reluctant to run the same system of the coach who got shit canned. He didn’t run the round 1 interviews and his coaching list was submitted as part of his own interview process. Not the ideal time to sell the bears that he was planning to give them more of the same. And he’s not going to string along Eb for a token interview.

Not hard to figure out. He seemed very interested in going defense. And he knows eberflus through Ballard. It moved quickly so poles likely knew who he was hiring as soon as he was hired. Again, there are many many legit reasons why poles didn’t interview EB that have nothing to do with respect.

Who said that Poles doesn’t respect EB?

All I’ve said is that he clearly didn’t feel that he was the best man for the job.

Which is obvious.

To make sure I'm reading BB right. Doesn't he try to pretend there that he knew he was texting Flores all along, but just misunderstood who the Giants had named, pretending he initially thought they named Flores instead of Daboll? Does not own up to not knowing who he was texting?

Sorry if I'm being slow boomer here.
